I was waiting for my bus tonight and saw a butterfly dancing around in the grass. It eventually settled and I managed to get a quick snap with my smartphone. I got quite close up and it did not move. Hope you like @Baz@Yogi19 as I know you like them from talking in Springwatch.

Thanks Yogi. It was a one shot deal and I got within inches of the butterfly. Within seconds it flew away.  Now need to identify it.

I've got a book on butterflies, somewhere. If I can find it tomorrow, I'll have a look.

A female Small Blue - The male has silvery blue upper wings but the female is brown.

It's the silvery white rim round the edges of the wings that gives it away.

One of the latest videos of our swans, well one swan, the other is chasing down geese who have dared to venture onto "his" pool  

All are growing fast now and full of life after the one cygnet had a scare. Glad to to say no sign of any damage now
