Soo... good night all round then?!
I'm not sure any one had fully functioning legs by the time I took that snap.
This week I took a walk at lunchtime and unexpectedly found quite a large wood not 2 mins walk from the office. Once you get under the tree canopy all you can hear are birds and the rustling of leaves.
Taken the walk twice now and it's such a contrast from one minute being sat at a desk surrounded by high tech equipment and software, the next in the middle of a wood.
Picture One: A picture of the trees as I enter the woods.
Picture Two: Another picture of trees and light from a different angle.
Picture Three: An attempt at a panorama picture (a bit blurry for most part).
Probably best viewed larger - here is a link: http://postimg.org/image/tu95qkk5h/
You been hiding in the bushes, EC..?
We're finally blooming at Cos Towers:
Lupins above, and 2 peony varieties....
No idea why there's so much pink..!

The view from my bedroom window. When my dad planted that tree, many years ago, it was about 2 feet high

Yes indeed Cosi and fankoo
Today I was up early so had my walk and coffee much earlier than normal. As I sat upstairs in the coffee shop I realised I was alone. So took out the camera and tried a panoramic picture.
Link below for a larger version which when loaded, click on the picture and it's bigger.

Nice one, EC
How long did you have the luxury of the building pretty much to yourself?
I'm on Day 3 of attempting to catch a decent photo of a beautiful green woodpecker who's been hanging around in my garden. Every time I grab my phone it's as if he KNOWS I'm about to take a snap....and off he flies.
This is the best () shot so far.....

I had the room to myself for about 15 minutes. The regulars gradually filtered in. . It's my favourite position. I get a good vista and can people watch for ages. They also play Jazz on a weekend, Sunday's you get a more classical menu of tunes.
Have you considered setting up a feeding station for the woodpecker? That way you can train a camera on the feed area ready to take a photo. I have a cherry tree in front of my house and they cherries are almost ready for the local birds to come demolish them. I shall attempt to take some photos. It's usually a couple of wood pigeons, blackbirds and thrushes.
I've got cctv so I suppose I could. Mr C might say otherwise.
My garden's like the Bronx with added attitude, EC.
There's a sparrow hawk in the locality, Jays and Magpies who are always having stand offs....never a week goes by without a pigeon being zapped . It'd be like a Stephen King movie. I feed the birds every day and a lot of them are used to me....except for Woody woodpecker. I can see him easily enough, and he's quite happy foraging in amongst the plants on the bank.... it's just getting a decent shot of him that's the problem.
Oh, and Jazz at the weekend sounds good to me

Do the birds squawk with a "New Yoyk" Bronx accent? There is a chap on the BBC who takes lots of bird photos, he might be worth checking out for hints and tips.
Sounds like you have a lot and varied bird population in your garden Cosi.
Jazz seems to work really well at the weekends for some reason .
On Friday I paid my weekly visit to my Mum and decided to walk around her very large (not quite as large as Cosi's) garden.
Noticing lots of flowers I took a few pics (some better than others as it was a bit breezy and focusing was hard).
Take Two!
Here are a few more
Wow! Beautiful flowers, EC. Why can't I grow plants like that?
(It's the salty sea air that doesn't help my attempts).

Thanks
You should get in touch with Monty Don, he will suggest a few plants for salty sea air

Yeah, but they're the same old, same old as everyone else has got.
I'm off to Spain tomorrow where we managed to have a huge display of climbing roses all up the walls earlier this year. Ironic that they were better than my meagre few here in the UK..!
Lunch with Mr C today:
A few olives to start...
Then, Gamberoni & Calamari and an antipasti misto:
...all washed down with a couple of glasses of pinot blush.

I did thanks EC....but Coulthard and you were the first thing that came into my head
Nice Papping, Dame Glad you had a good time.
Right, stand by for a bunch of random snaps taken in the last 10 days....
First off, we could see Jupiter and Venus as clear as anything.
Unfortunately my camera gives an altogether different impression!
