Just found out that my Aunt is on her way out, so I'm dealing with a mum who is devastated at losing her 'little' sister. Her kids are all in Australia, so I'm hoping that they can get back in time to say goodbye.
So sorry for your loss clumsycat, and cinds.
And blizzy, I hope for the best possible outcome, and hope her family get home xx

The James Cook neurological research dept called and are going to use my Dad for inspiration for others suffering from brain tumours to help them withy their own personal fights x
he raised a lot of money for the charity by cycling across the country & did the coast to coast while undergoing treatment. i am so proud of him but still miss him so much x

This thing about the James Cook Neurological Dept. is very cool. Might make it easier, might not, but your dad was obviously a man to be proud of, and for that you have years of positive thoughts ahead of you.

Blizz, Mr Cinds has a brother in Australia, he thankfully made it back last year when we lost their Mother, but this time it was so quick and sudden he didn't have a chance. I'll keep my fingers crossed your cousins get here in time.

Well, the funeral was today, a lot of people were there. So much so everyone could not fit in the crematorium.
He was a much loved and respected man, which was touching.
I am trying to be strong but it is so hard, still cannot quite comprehend he is gone.
A big thank you to everyone on here for your support & sympathy. I know I have been a bit of a downer lately so your patience & kind words have been appreciated.

Clumsy, my thoughts are with you, it will be hard, but remember your dad wanted you to be happy, that hasn't changed.
Your Dad set the stage for you to tread with his memories to cheer you on.
Clumsy, I don't think you need to try to be strong. Let it flow! This is your grief, and you are entitled to it.
I"m glad that he's left you a legacy you can be proud of, and I wish you peace during your time of healing.

It wasn't until the evening, when the adrenalin of the day had gone, that it hit me.

My Dad's funeral passed in a blur. I can remember odd bits of the day but that's all. Mind you it was a long time ago.
It does bring a small bit of comfort to know how much the people we love are loved by others.

I remember my Dads funeral in exactly the same way. It was lovely to see all the people who came to give their last respects and to have a chat with them.
