Gawd bless the Beatles.....have to agree the Long and Winding Road was not the best, but I blame Paul....

Octopuses Garden may not be brilliant but I still can sing along to it with a smile on my face.

My younger readers probably won't be aware but back in the day a crap band called Marmalade had a crack at this one. It was even worse and for some reason they had altered the lyrics.

The Bedrocks had a decent stab at it though.

In using a vocalist who can't really sing the Beatles were ahead of their time.

Without Ringo we probably wouldn't have had Jim Kerr, Girls Aloud, Lou Reed, X Factor etc. etc.
