how long have they been hanging around as strays ?

is there a chance they could have got lost  ? or have been micro chipped ?

one of mine went missing for 3 weeks - we tracked her down and she had been living rough and was in a real sorry state - would never have imagined she had a good home somewhere

Cat protection units are normally good and only have the cats interests at heart - give them a call

Places for you to try.
Celia Hammond Animal Trust
Cats Protection League
RSPCA/SSPCA
Blue Cross

Also try a site called catchat.org. They list all rescue centres.

There are a few places which do put cats to sleep if they are not rehomed so ask around. You could also try putting ads in the paper, local shop/supermarket etc.

If you've never had a cat that's pregnant then the signs are increased appetite, morning sickness (yep they get it too), some can become over affectionate, pinking (when their nipples swell), they also nest just like we do. They will try to hide in corners, behind furniture etc. Also the obvious sign of thier belly growing and they walk quite awkwardly. All in all just like a pregnant woman

Well done for looking after them

Thanks for all your help. I rang cat protection league but they couldnt place her till this week, they ask me to drop her at the vets and they would pick her up from there unfortunately she may have to be put down as the vet doesnt think she is pregnant but her tummy is very swollen also her mouth is in a bad state and she cant feed properly or clean herself. I feel a bit guilty now but I know its the best thing for the cat .
