I've hated every sports day I've been forced to attend as well. You stand there like a lemon and then you go home.

Urggh! I just hate feeling obliged to converse with the other Buckinghamshire mums. AND it's an all day event for goodness sake! Would much rather go to work Cool
I know it's awful isn't it. I feel your pain. Luckily the school my two go to now have a closed sports day, no parents allowed woo hoo Thumbs Up
Crikey! If only... This is the penultimate though. There's one more next year as she's in year 6 from Sep. Hopefully this type of nonsense doesn't go on in secondary school Big Grin

what are these people? Professional torturers?

We've all done it hun, sat through the crap just to show willing for the kids - if you can reschedule your work I'd say then do so.

Your daughter will always be your daughter but chances are that you will change your job at some point
As I said before, Good Luck Hug

As working mums I always felt that we are pulled between work and home far more than men are

Hug Thanks

No, perhaps next Friday but I'll look like a slacker! Roll Eyes

Tell a lie that makes them feel sorry for you, your pipes have flooded, your carpets runied, you have been up since 6 trying to resolve it, you gotta wait for a plumber, blah, blah, blah!

Laugh

I can't be bothered to lie. I'll just tell the truth. There'll be no sympathy though - it's been overkill with my childcare situation in the last few months, so I think sympathy wears a little thin after a while Nod

Nod

After I got screwed over by my employers this week one of my collegues reminded me that there are times in life where you gotta just think f**k it. You got two choices, upset your lovely daughter or upset a couple of moaning so and sos at work. They will get over it and find something else to moan about by dinner.
