Ok, I'm going to start a new thread...what shall we call the club? How about the Of it Of club, incorporating the of instead of have and the of instead of off?
FM
I would like to join this nice new club and I must say that my mum was the worst. We would learn words from her and venture out into the world only to get fingers pointed at us and laughed at. Some of her words were drownDED instead of drowned. As in I got drownded wet. You used to black treacle in cakes but she taught us to say trinkle instead and also the stuff you put over roofs was not tarpaulin but tarpolion. We had a funny childhood Big Grin

Oh and 'Gat-O' instead of 'Gateaux'.

I'm not getting that last one, Rawky.

Some people pronounce it 'Gat-O' instead of 'Ga-toe', ya get me!
I'm not really seeing the difference (and I speak French), but I'm sure you're right Glance
