I love 'words.'I subscribe to, 'word of the day' on dictionary.com; I've had a laugh with people on here with a 'let's use a word today from the urban dictionary' (ooo, must do that again ); I've loved the recent 'favourite word' thread on here, but, like most, (I imagine ) have had to google to check the meaning of some. I HATE it when people use their command of English to, 'lord it,' over others.... Have just heard Charlie say to Bea on lf, "I haven't got the words,[like you]; " I've heard Dave say something similar to her re not having v good communication skills. I got pulled today by a fm because I made a joke about a 'freudian slip' and made reference to machiavellianism, and ya know what, they were dead right. STOP interlectual( )snobbery in the BB house,(and here sometimes!) RIGHT NOW

If you've got it.. flaunt it..
I don't see why people should have to dumb themselves down for the benefit of others.

Its up to charlie to start to learn, ask what they mean or look them up we all had to at some point (and still do ).
Rodrigo asks all the time and his language will improve unlike Charlie. I expect Rodrigo sounds very well educated in Portugese and Charlie would hate him...ironic really.
I get what you're saying Super. Not so much the use of words, as opposed to the taking the 'michael' out of people that don't or can't.

I don't stress too much about how I express myself on here. I'm very aware that I've picked up some shockingly lazy habits, because it's quicker to type stuff like "wanna/gonna/cos" etc - especially on a fast moving thread. I also know my that spelling can be atrocious on here, but that's usually because I keep forgetting to put on my specs
BUT in RL I'm completely different. I'm very proud of my education and I always try my best to speak (and especially write) correctly in English. I'm not the kind of person to regard knowledge and intelligence as something to be ashamed of. As a "forrin burd" for me the English language is the most beautiful language in the world, and I love to hear it spoken well.
I'm not ranting, btw But, whilst I'll point and laugh at BB HMs along with everyone else, it does sadden me a little to see how the vast majority of them are completely unfazed by how little they know, or how badly they speak.

I agree people shouldn't have to dumb down for the sake of others but I also feel nobody should be belittled simply because they don't understand big words or have a thesaurus handy.
Sometimes on here and in RL I feel like screaming "just because you use big words doesn't make you right"

I can't help if I don't talk proper and get confused at big words
I'm from Glasgow and we have a whole language of our own so I shouldn't really complain
