That whole "they don't consider her British" line which crops up several times in the article and video is a complete red herring: she is not being required to prove her nationality (that's almost certainly one of the questions, but it's not the deciding factor).
As the DWP spokesman pointed out, her nationality isn't the issue. What it comes down to is that she's been living abroad for three years, and has to prove she's now living in the UK, and intends to remain in the UK, before she can can claim Income Support - that's it.
It all rather looks as if she's just assumed she's entitled to the same benefits as before, hasn't bothered to fill in the forms correctly and now is shocked and hurt because they won't just give her "her" money...
