I don't really drink wine anymore , but my favs used to be Merlot ...and Frascati  

My personal favourite would be a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. I can't remember my absolute fave now - I can see the bottle but can't remember the name - I think it began with a K and also Oyster Bay.

 

A Chablis can be nice too .........can't think of a brand name one - I've had some I don't like.

oooh dunno Sprout I only like sweeter softer white wines like Reisling. Hock is also easy drinking. Merlot is the only red wine I like. The rest are 

You like tart wines so its not much help.

Blue Nun, Black Tower and Mateus Rosé are my favourites.

If I'm having a weekend splurge them a 4 litre bottle of Lambrini.

 

 

 

Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio...or a nice Merlot...although Tesco do a white Merlot for under a fiver which is very nice

That's what I'm drinking tonight Sooz, although it was on offer I must have read another price ticket by accident  it was more than I actually thought it was.   It is quite nice though

I'm not a wine drinker really Sprout, but I did like Black Tower when I tried it. I hardly ever drink these days, probably about 3 or 4 pints a month at most.

Lidl have a racked bin with points out a hundred.

Kind of an 'out of the way' shop for me. I don't go to that area very much but if someone can suggest a wine I'll make a special trip

Aldi do a jolly nice wine called Toro Loco (I think) and it's about £3.60 a bottle. 

 

It's had very good reviews from people who know a bit about wine, apparently

 

Not tried the white but can recommend the red.

I can well see why Madame  but try some of their beauty products the reviews knock the socks off the much more expensive products.  I have used them by the way and they are as good if not better 

I will definitely give them a go.  I shall be attempting to glam myself up for Christmas so hopefully Aldi's will be up to the challenge!

I prefer dry wines, so I would recommend Yulumba Unoaked Chardonnay, about £8 from Morrisons for a white choice.

 

For red, I would always go for a Pinot Noir.

Just a thought ........if you like it very dry and a bit sharp a Muscadet fits the bill (promoting our twin village in France here .they are Muscadet specialists). Our twin village produces beautiful Muscadet but it can be really variable around the region as a whole.

 

My absolute favourite wine was one Threshers used to do 'Domaine de Tariquet' it was a sauvignon and really lovely.

I have no idea if a wine is 'crisp', 'dry' or anything else.  I check the price then check the % alcohol of it (any less than 12% is no use to me) but I do love Chilean wine for some reason.  Sauvignon Blanc is one of my favourites but to be honest I'd drink any kind of white wine.  As long as I have some lemonade to drink it with.

 

Kumala wine, as Soozy said, is quite lovely.  My favourite at the minute is Chinchilla wine which my local off license sells but as I said, if it's on sale and above 12%, I'll drink it

I agree with Roger several posts ^^^^ I do like the German whites. Our favourite though was Jacobs Creek sparkling Chardonnay. Alas! The price over doubled in the space of a year! Otherwise champagne all the way. Constantly seeking out the bargains.

My boss once told me that there are only two types of wine - the wine you like and the wine you don't. He said enjoy whatever it may be regardless of price. Price is not necessarily an indicator of a wine you will enjoy be it a low or high price.
