I remember watching (on TV) Charlie Pasarol and Pancho Gonzalez many, many years ago ....... but it doesn't even hold a candle to this. Sheer heroics. John McEnroe was quite correct when he was talking about footballers playing for 90 minutes and getting five days off .......and there are eleven players (and subs) no comparison really. Truly heroic.

Apparently if they had finished tonight their next round match would have been tomorrow. However, because they will be continuing this match tomorrow I believe their next match will be on Friday now. So it might actually be in their favour to bring the match into a third day.

It seems that Isner wins most of his games with his big serve and a fair amound of aces.
Whereas Mahut also has a good serve, but he is more nimble and uses more all-court tactics.
But what do I know?
I know it's a shame that one has to lose.  This is unique.

It's probably a matter now of who will make the first mistake.

Yes, Isner relies on his serve, and it is a fantastic serve. Mahut was fresh as a daisy even toward the end of the day. I hope it goes into 70's...
