How amazing!!! There will be a winner eventually but it is all for pride. Surely to God the winner will be far to knackered and will get blown away in the next round. I felt a tad sorry for Isner as he wanted to continue ...........I don't think he'll be able to get out of bed in the morning!!!!!!!!!! I think he may concede.
By the way Jamie Delgado won his doubles match in round 1 today so there are 2 British players still in contention.
Andy Murray's round 2 match against Jarkko Nieminen of Finland is Thursday on Centre Court starting at 1.00.

The sort match where people say "I saw that match. I was there."
I remember watching (on TV) Charlie Pasarol and Pancho Gonzalez many, many years ago ....... but it doesn't even hold a candle to this. Sheer heroics. John McEnroe was quite correct when he was talking about footballers playing for 90 minutes and getting five days off .......and there are eleven players (and subs) no comparison really. Truly heroic.
re: El Loro
"But what sort of physical shape will whoever wins be in?"
Apparently if they had finished tonight their next round match would have been tomorrow. However, because they will be continuing this match tomorrow I believe their next match will be on Friday now. So it might actually be in their favour to bring the match into a third day.

Yes but .............in all honesty I think they've both given their all and there will not be a lot left in the tank. i bet the next opponent is rubbing his hands together.
Watching the continuation of this amazing match.
61 games all.
Isner is now moving a shade better than yesterday, (at least he is picking his feet up now) but it still looks laboured.

Hi greenandpink.
It's incredible isn't it.
It seems that Isner wins most of his games with his big serve and a fair amound of aces.
Whereas Mahut also has a good serve, but he is more nimble and uses more all-court tactics.
But what do I know?
I know it's a shame that one has to lose. This is unique.

It's probably a matter now of who will make the first mistake.
I know Brisket.
I am almost holding my breath in case there is a break of serve... that would break the spell..
Yes, Isner relies on his serve, and it is a fantastic serve. Mahut was fresh as a daisy even toward the end of the day. I hope it goes into 70's...

Me too greenandpink.
But how wonderful that we could witness anything like that.
It was splendid.
I'm pleased they are all getting a special memento.

Absolutely Brisket. If only there was a way for them both to go through.
But we witnessed history.
Indeed we did.

Smashing. Lovely tribute.

I don't think that will ever be repeated. It was gladitorial .............my heart goes out to the loser but the true winners were the ones luckiest enough to witness it. What a story!
John Isner's match against Thiemo De Bakker starts at 12.00 on Court 5 - let's hope he does well - I think he must have gained a huge number of supporters, as has Nicolas Mahut.
Well well! Nadal down to no.33 seed Petzscner by 2-1! 4th set just starting.

Nadal being given a run for his money by Philipp Petzschner!
Both players have had treatment from the physio.
Nadal not in a good mood, has been warned by the umpire for "coaching".

It was ridiculous I know, but for the last set and a half I've been sitting here hoping that Nadal would lose, purely because of the biased and fatuous commentating.
Well! What a thriller again! A 5 setter that leaves the players as exhausted as the Mahut/Isler one!
Murray next and play can continue under the roof until 11.00!

Both Nadal and Federer look quite different when they are tidied up and not wearing their bandanas.

I know Fluffs! They seem to have been using a lot of cliche reporting haven't they. Nadal is such a nice chap etc etc! If you ask me, his use of the trainer (twice, over different problems) was tactical... Petzschner's seemed a retaliation.Reference:

Ta Fluffs! I may well watch that then... and with no tennis they may even be able to find room on the Beeb to show it! Half hour break... and then the stomach churning experience of watching England lose to Germany... again!
