I watched the second half of the Fed/Falla game, thinking it was going to be over before I even switched on! Wow! What a nailbiter on the first day!!!  

So before you ask. Yes, I luv the Fed... and why not?

Yes he was truly fabulous but even the "greats" come on thinking they can have a walkover and come up against the young players that are geared up and poised for this since childhood..it was a great start to Wimbledon  

Although Andy Murray isn't particularly likeable I still hope he does well at Wimbledon. But I'm not optimistic. Although he is ranked 4th in the world he's not playing as well as that ranking. I've just been looking at the points obtained since after the Australian Open. The ATP points obtained for the top 7 are:

Murray        705

Soderling   2890
Roddick     1950

At present he is probably only just in the top 20.

Some amazingly good tennis yesterday ~ Federer (who I think is one of the greats ~ although not as great as Borg, the greatest player I have ever had the pleasure of watching live (Wimbledon 1979), Laura Robson showing that she could be a great prospect for the ladies when she is a little older, she handled the atmosphere on Centre really well and praise for Jelena Jankovic who was as gracious as ever, she is definitely one of my favourite current female players.

I am a fan of Michael Llodra. (Yes, he does have fans.) He is a set up against Roddick.
Ah! Now 1-1. - one set all.

Michael Llodra is such a good doubles player. And you can see his doubles playing experiencesa being brought into this match.

Sad part is whoever wins has to play tomorrow, as it's a carried over match.

No rest day off..........got to be a big disadvantage.

I agree stoory. It is tough on whoever wins.
It is one of those games where you don't want either of them to lose.

But he's just served his 92nd Ace.

This is unbelievable! I'd have thought they couldn't even serve by now, let alone return one!

Slight wobble there by Isner, but he still saved his game.

Which is worse...That Isner had two break points against him, but saved them both, or that Mahut had two break points in his favour, but lost them both?

They are 59 games each in the 5th set and the 5th set in itself would be the longest match.

Whoever wins this match will then face De Bekker whose 5th set was in normal matches a marathon  - he won 16 games to 14.

But what sort of physical shape will whoever wins be in - I am half expecting that one of them tomorrow will have to call it off due to the trauma that this must be causing them.
