Keira had different barks and vocal sounds and (it probably sounds nuts but) she would use a sort of telepathy where her expression would tell you what she wanted.

awwwwmy cat sits in certain places for biscuits ,treats ,food and a sharp meow when she comes in as a greeting

Those chimps are quite happy to have her around

Dogs I do think interact on a higher level than cats
