There's a 4 part documentary series starting on BBC Alba next Tuesday. It's called "Miann na Maighdinn-mara" or "Mermaid Taies"

Mermaid Tales follows young islander, Kate Macleod as she indulges in her lifelong passion for the sea around her beloved homeland of Uig on the Isle of Lewis.

As well as seeing many of her water-based adventures, she meets some knowledgeable locals who tell her about the fascinating and rich history that is on her very own doorstep.

She loves the sea and swimming there. She has also made her own mermaid tail.

It's in Scottish Gaelic but does have English subtitles.

Link to BBC's homepage for the series - the episodes should be available to watch shortly after they've been broadcast.

There's a couple of clips there and judging by them, this is a delightful relaxing gem of a series.
