I can't remember watching that. I did watch Animal Magic (Johnny Morris) in its early years. At that time we sometimes went to Bristol Zoo which is where it was filmed, not that I ever saw him. When I got a bit older, I stopped watching Animal Magic and felt that something was not right when at the zoo and we stopped going. The most notable reason why I felt that something was not right was seeing a polar bear walking round and round in its enclosure (in reality, its prison). That was years before it was recognised that polar bears suffered mental illness in such surroundings.

Yes, Zoos in those days were pretty awful El, but I think they have really improved these days .

Bristol Zoo announced at the end of last year that it is intending to close the old Clifton zoo by 2024 and move to its sister site called "Wild Life Project"

Yes I think most zoos now concentrate more on conservation ....and safeguarding and breeding endangered species .....I know the American zoos that Ros, Yogi and I watch on tv certainly do ....as I think do British zoos, like Chester .
