If on a trip to HQ, York, or Harrogate I suggested that Mrs Crossy and I enter Bettys, she would have me sectioned
The prices can be a bit silly Crossy.....that cake is ÂĢ21.50! Which reminds me, once when I bought one I left it out on the kitchen worktop with two slices out, came home from work to no cake, just some crumbs where the cake had been! Turned out that my niece had been around, let herself in and scoffed the lot! It took me about a month to work out the mystery of the disappearing cake and she said, "Surely you must have known I'd been 'cos I took about 20 CDs too"

I would have killed her!

Have you tried the Bar Convent?
Use there a lot for regional meetings Crossy,it's v good isn't it? Bit of a treck with a pram 'though from the main shopping area?

What about the cafe in that little independent cinema with river views, just around the corner from Bettys/across the way from Starbucks? I like it in there, (and it's v reasonable Crossy) I'm pretty sure that you'd be able to take a pram in there.

We park by it down Nunnery Lane.  You certainly can't get a pram around the walls, but at least you get a nice easy glide down Micklegate. TBH I hate the traffic in that area but it's very convenient for those who suply the Crossy family with pushbikes.

On our last visit there was something going on with lots of stalls and we ate Turkish. We walked past the place you mention. We'll give it a whirl.
Just found it on the interweb: Evil Eye Lounge. Great for lunch but probably a bit busy and studenty for us oldies in the evening?

we ate Turkish
I'm the least fussy eater in the world, but just can't get away with a lot of Turkish food,  much of it is just 'slop' in my eyes and just about everything tastes of pul biber! There are some things I like: menemen; a few of the mezes like haydari and hummus; some of the vegetable things particularly aubergine dishes like imam bayildi and baba ganus; most of the soups; puffa bread, some gozleme and pide and some of the kebabs. And that's about my lot, which can be a bit of a problem as my sisters live there so I visit regularly. Thankfully there's a lot of good fish where they are so I tend to pretty much live on that and salad, (the rocket is fantastic) if we go to the traditional Turkish restaurants.

My favourite place to eat Turkish is a place in Hamburg. As long as they eat there then so do I. TBH I'm not really a foodie, and I hate fish dishes (except when they deep fry 'em in batter) I could exist for the rest of my life on tzatziki and bread and any Greek, Turkish, Lebanese, or East Med DRY kebabs, and farmers salads. I don't like sauces.

Can you get on this site?

The pressure is on for Section D when a secret meeting of powerful tycoons is stormed by armed terrorists and eight of the world's richest men are taken captive.

But this is no normal hostage situation - undercover at the time, Ros is one the hostages. As events spiral out of control, it looks like no one will make it out alive. Is this the end of the road for Ros?

Alas! Agent Temps it was the end for Jo.
As Jo struggled with a terrorist who had the control for a bomb. Ros shot him and  the bullet passed through him and appeared to hit Jo in the heart.
Meanwhile Ruth has returned to the grid and it seems to be a "Will they, won't they?" with Harry.
There was a bit of smut last night involving Agent Guy of Gisbourne and that American agent. Now I must leave for the Riverside to watch the 'boro play Forest. If we don't win this one we are in deep trouble.
