I just think that this thread is a bit OTT considering that there have always been spoilers on this forum - wherever it was based.

As I said, I wasn't aware that the home page listed threads and contents as I have never used that way to come here and maybe Darlo and anyone else who posts spoilers didn't know either.

That obviously changes the situation somewhat

LOL   I must admit though, I hadnt seen a sniff of the winner until that thread.... But I most definately am not being horrid to Darlo... Just saying that I had to shoot out of this site last night because of the risk of seeing the winner... it would have completely ruined it all for me after months and months of watching...  I am just asking/requesting that he thinks about asking people to PM him rather than putting the spoiler right in the thread, because it *does* flash up on the home page, as some have already pointed out.

I'm a little uncomfortable too. Darlo's always been the spoiler person, it's not like it's out of character. He hardly comes back to visit as it is, hope he'll be back for BB (even though I'll be away on my hols.) because he's such a big part of this place for me 

I always look away at the end of every show when they do the what's coming up next week bit, for precisely that reason

The spoilers don;t bother me cos i never come via the home page...i have the forum saved to the main BB forum page...so if i see and spoiler and don;t wnat to know i just don't look.

Having said that I must say I found the thread titled 'Which FM would you like to stab' last night more disturbing than the spoiler thread. Where's the outrage about that then? Just cos its now gone but I saw no-one protesting it last night when it was there.

tbh Veggie one of the reasons I stopped posting of an evening was because of the spoilers.. a few times they would accidentally leak into 'official' threads supposedly free of spoilers. .am going back a good while now tho..  but I kept the habit up of not posting during a show.. and also cos I can't seem to concentrate on both things at the same time properly anymore either . .I prefer to talk after something has finished rather than during..

I dunno if I was coming over sarcastic either, wasn't meant that way but, I still don't see the point of them tbh or why you'd invest a load of time watching something only to get a spoiler before it finishes.. I can't fathom it at all.. it doesn't make sense to me

I'd like to point out that my contribution in this thread is not aimed at Darlo but about the spoiler thing in general and how I don't get why people want to know in advance.. 

I always steer clear of Darlo's spoiler threads..

I never use the home page, so it didn't bother me, but, for those who do, we do need to work out a system for darlo to use.

As Suzy said, I'd hate darlo to disappear from here.

Well I just thought it was mightily hypocritical of the OP to get upset over a spoiler which people may or may not have seen and then have the audacity to post that.

Some stuff I deffo don't want spoilered (BB eviction nights being one of them)...    other stuff I do want spoilers, though I tend to go & find out for myself. 

I am one of those people that sometimes when a only a couple of chapters into a book then goes & reads the last few pages...   tis so I can relax & stop rushing through it.   Or...  is so I can relax & know that someone doesn't die..    or in the case of reality type stuff..    so I can relax cos the person I really really can't stand doesn't win it.    (hahahaha..  I really should have spoilered Big Brother evictees then...   might have saved me a lot of ranting!)

the only BB spoilers I used to look at were the who's up this week ones.. dunno why I looked at those but can't look at others.. maybe I am weird

still it's good to know to not come in via the front page if there's anything to be spoiled that way tho, so thanks for Eugene for letting us all know about that

That's my take on it too. But as you said Olly, Croc can speak for herself on the matter. It's an individual take on things, and a meeting of the minds on individual topics doesn't have to mean taking sides. On that score, my lunch break is officially over

I completely agree, Croc.  I saw the thread before I closed down last night, and thought it was extremely disturbing, particularly given all the fake outrage and hypcricy from a number of people over the last few days over the Jonesy issue. 

Like you, I have a link to the main page of the BB forum and so wasn't aware that you could see the contents of a thread without opening it.  But I seem to be in the minority in really liking spoilers, and I'm grateful to Darlo for posting it.  I clicked on his thread as soon as I saw it because I was interested to know who had won; if Susan had have been the winner, I wouldn't have wasted an hour watching the Apprentice when I could have been doing something else much more productive.  In the days when I used to watch Big Brother, I always looked at the spoilers, and I always look at the American Idol site to see who has been eliminated when the series is running.

I really don't like spoilers and dont want them, but I know some people like to know.    My hubby is a bit weird like that.    He reads the soap mags and goes to next weeks corrie's description of the show on the sky+ to see what is going to happen and stuff like that.

He has actually blabbed stuff to me before "accidently.".  Like he found out the winner of a show I was watching several years ago, about soapstars singing (Roxanne Pallet was on it,) .. I was actually at a concert with my friend and recorded the final when I was out...  I returned at 1am and went straight to bed....Well what did he do?  He twatting well sent me an EMAIL with the sodding winner at 10 at night just after it finished, when he was on the internet...! 

Eff knows WHY he did that!  I couldve bloody throttled him.. I watched it for 3 weeks or whatever and he emailed me the winner, and I looked at my emails as soon as I got up, and knew the winner before I watched it.  i was fuming. !!!   I got my revenge though: a few months later, he was addicted to USA Hells Kitchen, and he recorded the final whilse he was on a late shift (12 midday til 12 midnight,) and when he came in, I said 'John won then?'  He said 'what?' And I said 'oh didnt you watch hells kitchen at work?  Oh no, sorry!!!'  He was so pissed off.    Thing is, when he told me the winner of my programme a few months earlier, he just laughed and wasnt even sorry and said 'well you'd have found out soon anyway!'.





Darlo is really nice by the way, and I dont think he will be bothered or upset by people being a bit miffed.  Did someone actually see the result before the end?  And is this what has spurned this thread?  I am a bit out of the loop.  Don't understand why anyone is a bit mad now though, as Veggie said, Darlo has done spoilers before, so is there any reason why people are so annoyed at this particular one?  Like I said, did someone see it on the home page?
