I've observed some FMs choose to hide their presence on the forum. Why is this?

I for one adore looking at my name in the mirror but perhaps that is my over-inflated sense of my own importance.

I am accustomed to having a retinue of followers but perhaps they are stalkers...

I used to hide all the time on Ch4, I think it was because it used to leave your name there for ages after you had gone and I didn't want people to think I was there when I wasn't.

Nobody gives a toss whether I'm here or not anymore so I don't bother to hide

I can understand if people are just viewing and lurking, and especially if they want to look in the troll tank and not let anyone know they're there.. But I can't understand why they hide when they are posting, because people can see they're there when they post. Still, it's nowt to do with me...if someone wants to 'stay hidden.'
