I stopped uasing IE ages ago. Its useless and crashed far too much. Was recommended Crome but never had a crash. Use Firefox mainly, both these were recommended to me by family.Only thing is they do not offer a spell cheker as Ie which I wish, especialy when I type fast, which I did just then and had to go back.

I love the thumbnails it gives you for most used sites. Makes finding my faves so easy.

I like that feature too, although not so good when you have been looking at things you'd rather others didn't know you had been looking at Glance

Oh that's good to know, Thumbs Up as I usually buy from M&S and Debs and other clothes sites hubby doesn't know about - he goes on about me having too many clothes etc, true but my spending is necessary. Nod Can't you clear 'all history'? If so how?

Jackson, can you help me at all then? I had chrome on my laptop but had problems with pop-ups......it blocked everything and wouldn't let me un-block them....????

Do you know how to resolve this? It's a bugger when I've ordered something online and gone to the checkout only to be blocked...help as I prefer chrome to any other browser.....

....also, when i removed it, i tried to re-install firefox, but it wouldn't let me as there was still 'something' left of chrome on my laptop, said something along the lines of contacting the adminstrator....I'm now using IE8 at home, which I must admit is much faster thatn IE7...can you help?? There probably is away of doing it on chrome itself, but I don't know what it is, I'll have a look and let you know if I find anything. Whenever I run my C-Cleaner it cleans my web history off chrome.

On Chrome, there's a spanner icon in the right hand corner. Drop that and you'll see options for deleting browsing data.Wink

Also, I discovered TODAY they have an 'incognito window' which doesn't record anything. Ninja

Thanks Cinds and 'Devil' Valentine I have my own computer and laptop etc but the less hubby finds out about my clothes purchases the better - then there's itunes - Oh God, give me an 'idiots' guide' to it please. I mean 'step by step'' I rely on my son too much and he's a computer programmer/technician who would suss me out in a sec! (He was the youngest technician ever employed by PC W**** in the country for his age ) and now he travels the world on/off setting up phone lines and writing programmes for Nokia etc - so I'm needing the idiots guide, believe me. I can blackmail him against shopping tho' ut the more I know myself the better! (He used to work around the school's IT guy too and by pass his codes!) Confused

Firefox has a spell checker built in.

Go to the tools menu at the top of the screen, click options, then click the tab that says advanced, four more tabs should appear, go to the one that says general, and you should see a section called browsing, and click the box next to where it says check my spelling as I type, click ok, and hey presto, you have spell checker.

Sounds like your system as a network problem if all browsers keep crashing. Alternatively you have a virus on your system which could be crashing your browser.

I'd update your system promptly with windows updates and up date AV software and scan.

All the best

someone asked about pop ups on chrome, when a popup occurs chrome opens a little marker in the bottom right of your screen that says "popups blocked" then a number, click on that and it will open the popup windows (or close it).

chrome does have a spell checker its just not a nazi about it, misspell a word and it'll put a little red line under it to let you know there might be a problem, to correct it just move your mouse over the word and right click it will show you the spelling options, it will also allow you to add the current word to its dictionary in case its something that it doesnt know.

to go incognito in chrome just click on the spanner icon and select open new incognito window, what happens in the incognito window stays in the incognito window Wink
