*feels Maz's pain*
Now what would round it off nicely is an adman in an expensive suit telling you to have a happy period

I'm not an adman but may I take this opportunity to wish ladies everywhere a very happy period.

Joe you are walking a fine line my friend, a very fine line indeed ...
you'll be fine
you'll be able to skydive out of the plane into the ocean then continue the journey to florida on a jetski
i know all this
as i have seen the adverts

*sings* whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa bodyform, bodyform for yoooooooooooooooou!
see this si why those adverts annoy me...it's not the actual period that causes the problems...it is the boobs like watermelons and the rages and the tears and the grumps and the fact i could clear out thorntons when i don't even blooming like chocolate that cause the problems... the adverts don't address that do they

i've always thought they ended those adverts too soon... they missed the bit where she actually catches the milk tray man and mugs him
One casts one's mind back to the early seventies.......
Our Human Biology teacher said, "Of course little boys have their problems too!"
I am yet to discover what they were/are.

MM, I feel your pain!
I recently opted for the coil due to being a smoker and over 35...I changed to the mini pill but it didn't agree with me (apparently, the pill I was originally on runs a higher risk of cervical cancer & blood clots).
Oh how I long for the 2 day periods back that I had when I was on the pill...I had forgotten just how bad period pains were....I can't stop my period when I go away now either by taking the pill straight through!!!
Hopefully, it'll settle down in a few months and my period will become lighter
On the plus side, I have lost a few pounds, and less headaches...
BTW, anyone considering the coil...it bloody hurts having it inserted!!!!

On a similar note i wouldn';t recommend the injection... all great and good while i was on it didn't get periods only had to go every 3 months and get it ...but when i came of it... 4 months down the line i got a period THAT LASTED FOR 3 MONTHS
MIRENA COIL!!!
No pain, no period!!!
No pain, no period!!!

Big Grin Happiness Happiness Big Grin
I weighed up the pros & cons and hopefully made the right decision! I considered the injection but decided as It couldn't be 'taken away' if it disagreed with me that it was no good for me......
..I also considered the implant, but I'm too squeamish....
3 months!!! OMG! How rotten...

I went to have mine fitted, it didn't seem too bad at first then wham...I thought the man was trying to pull my womb out of my mimsy... It bloody hurt me....
Devil i have the Implant.... for 2 years it was fine.. now its a bloddy pain and they arent gonna take it out "until they've weighed up all the options" - options being a few very invasive 'search' of my nether regions..to find NOTHING to worry about!
One good thing about the menopause, no more periods.

Oh MM....not a thought to relish at all...I have a check up on Monday, hopefully it's not moved and that'll be it for 5 years...
How long does the implant stay in for? Can you see it under your skin....**shudders**
It's strange really. I thought that the main reason someone would hate to be a woman would be the lack of decision making capabilities. The trying to do loads of tasks at once and never finishing one.
You know? That sort of thing.
The rest of it seems, as Marx would have said, a piece of piss.

don't get any of those problems. I've got the implant (rod) in my arm. Works a treat for me & has done for 7 yrs now

I applaud your comments
and get those Reeboks on ..... we're on the run !
has it moved? or could it be faulty cause they are supposed to last for 3 yrs. But because some docs only do a couple a yr it makes me wonder if they keep up to date with training etcquote:Originally posted by Mummy Maz:

Good luck with yours on Monday.. what if they have to take it out? Do you get a nice new shiney one fitted?
JD i'm still watching you... you have no idea the pain i could inflict if i so desired...

Mine for hurt about a nanosecond (very sore nanosecond) and I keep recomending it to everyone I've also had one removed and not much worse than getting it in. It's like someone pinched you from the inside Was yours very sore MoFo? I've got friends who have it in and they say the same, very quick nip but worth the no periods in the end up.
MM....you can go ask the doc to prescribe a pill that will stop the period in it's tracks.

D.I.D. You have my sympathy. When my lady Doc. inserted mine, I promptly threw up all over her and everywhere! After a few months, I had 'labour' pains, and it came out! That was a lot of years ago, so maybe they have changed it now, I don't know.
