I really liked Ben at the start, and kinda like him a bit now.  But he is soooo annoyingly, irritatingly, boringly, frustratingly, Ben like sometimes....

Rachel and Mario havent henpecked him, they have been downright nasty. I dont think , in general, Ben is disliked, but then again i dont go on any other forums

I don't think Mario has henpecked him.
It's just the nature of their relationship these days.
In spite of the niggles they like each other.

Some of the things said there are a disgrace imo,oddly enough I saw some very unpleasant things posted by FM's from here who seem to vent their spleen more on FB....The LF chat room is sickening ,some saying how much they'd love to join in bullying him ,not only does that acknowledge he is being bullied but to say they'd like to join in is stomach churning imo.

i will never understand why mario nominated him and then went to ben and said he will be upset and disappointed if he replaces him in the task. thats a desperate man.

The way Mario is behaving towards Ben would be immediately obvious to anyone if Mario was female instead of male. Hell hath no fury like a Mario scorned.

IMO he's made BB for me this year

Mostly his pomposity, his insincerity, his reliance on others' hard work, his bitchiness, his political views (Paternalism), his cowardice, his hypocrisy and his constant mirror checks.

I do, however, enjoy his star jumps.

I really like Ben.  I like his sense of humour and he does have quite a caring side to him.  I do recognise that he has his faults, but thereagain don't we all.

I don't understand some of the vitriolic comments I read on here about him, as I really don't think they are deserved.  He is not a nasty person or a vindictive person, but people are so downright nasty about him.  I guess some people feel the need to have a hate figure each year.  In the house, I think it is because he doesn't really defend himself and when he does, he usually makes things worse and puts his foot in it.  He is seen as an easy target in the house, I feel.

I find it strange that nobody in the house likes Ben, but they are around him like flees, desperate to get him on their side, but at the same time taking the pee. Do they think he is another Freddie? Well if so they got it all wrong, it says more about THEM than it does about Ben IMO

Of course it says more about the perpetrators then it does about the people they are victimising.  Pick on the most vulnerable, easy isn't it? 

 I agree LL and whilst I agree we all like different hm's (as it should be) I fail to understand how anyone can condone one person being targeted for nastiness. I just don't get it.

I like Ben. I think he is interesting and funny.
He has also been supportive to a lot of HMs when they have been upset or a bit down.
I know he moans and whines at times, but it's understandable, considering the way most of the HMs have been treating him.
He's far from perfect but IMO he's one of the best in there.

I don't like him (most reasons already mentioned), but I haven't seen any really nasty stuff about him.

I didn't know there was stuff on FB about him...   I am happy to remain oblivious to all that.

I love Ben as an HM, but he'd drive me wild in rl....Not because he's posh, or because of his politics.....but because he needs a good kick up the backside for so many reasons, I'd probably murder him

I have a different hate figure every day, but no 1 has to be Rachel, I can't stand her, followed by Dave,Steve and Josie

I mostly don't mind Rachel but when she was screeching "Number one, number one, number one" over again when they were choosing the new Hms I wanted to fire up Saz's bus bound for Elstree

I like Ben because he is witty without intention and makes me laugh.

However I dislike him because he genuinely believes he is better then the rest of them because he is intelligent and from a good background. he seems to brush people off who are a bit dim and has often called others stupid in a derogatory fashion.  He bitches far more than anyone in the house and doesn't say anything to peoples faces, he doesn't try in tasks he expects the BB house to be like real life when others will just do everything for him and tend to his needs. I can also imagine him being very difficult to live with, as Ben is one of those people who has real annoying mannerisms and would do you nut in living in a confined space.
