When JJ had has outburst about Rachael over dinner and Rachael ran off, why didn't Shabby say something to him? She ran after Rachael and when someone else came into the bathroom, she asked if someone was giving JJ whatfor. Why didn't Shabby give him whatfor herself?

Shabby knew she'd get it right back at her. The Shabby one only "gives it" to people who won't shout back at her.

Shabby DID have words with JJ! She went into the bedroom as well to speak to him and I was actually impressed by how calm she was. She accepted that there were differences with JJ and Rach but told him the way to handle was NOT to shout at her down the dinner table because it puts all the housemates on edge and is embarrasing for Rachael. He just sort of accepted it and she walked out.

That was much later though, and I felt it was more token than anything else. I found it odd that Shabby expected someone else to have a go at JJ.
Well, I'm not sure its that she expected someone else to do it. I mean, why should she be the one to do it anyway, she's not Rachael's only friend... is it because everyone expects her to lose it and start shouting at everyone at the drop of a (bowler) hat. Besides, a person cant be at two places at once, she chose to comfort her friend at that moment and then went to speak to JJ privately when the situation had calmed down a bit.
