Also, it's now all her fault and she isn't allowed to flirt or go near a guy now because of it? What's that all about? It's like it's all the woman's fault because the blokes have such big egos and can't cope with a knock back.

Marcus is 35 years old and the way he is handling all this is beyond embarrassing. Noirin is right - she wants a MAN. Not a sexually immature tw@t like Marcus!

I agree, I feel sorry for her. Just because she has brushed him off he has sour grapes and is now slating her, but very disrespectfully Shake Head

and signposts.. I'm metaphor-tastic.. Crazy

Blimey. Does that mean "Yes, I love you" is like filling the petrol tank and keeping the oil level right? A tedious job for a man but necessary for smooth motoring. Ninja

Dance Settee - all this sounds really interesting - have you got any more info? I thought it was interesting that Michelle Obama touched the Queen and it was in all the papers.

A good start is nancy henley's book "politics of touch"...have a google Thumbs Up

Yeah there was an interesting documentary on TV a while ago that showed the touching that goes on between various heads of states...can't remember what it was called (anybody???)

Was quite funny...showed all these male presidents and prime ministers jostling to get the "high status" touch in first Laugh...they're all quite aware of the importance of it Nod

It was interesting to see how male heads of state from other countries, who would overpower male heads from others, would then totally go to bits when confronted by the queen Laugh

Michelle Obama was interesting...either she's completely naive to the nuances...which i find hard to believe...or she was being completely insulting

Thanks for that Dance Settee.

As for Michelle Obama, maybe she`s not one to follow traditions - good on her !

*scratches chin*

Perhaps she's a bit of an iconoclast and prefers to deal one to one rather than First Lady to Monarch. I think I would be too. If I met the POTUS (Bush, Obama or whoever) then I think I'd be underwhelmed and quite nonchalant really.

so would I, which is why i wouldn't be a politician, a polititian's wife or employ a whole truck of image consultants.

To me, Michelle's hug was targetted at impressing the American people, not the host country....which I find a bit ignorant of her to be honest when they are on their first world tour....you stick with the conventions of the host, whoever you are and wherever you are

....she ain't mother teresa, who could have got away with that malarky...she's in the politics game Roll Eyes
