I just cannot understand why they can't. I'd know pretty damn quickly if a girl wasn't that into me (even if she was flirting with me a bit). Marcus MUST'VE known Noirin wasn't that into him but he thinks he can ware her down so that she'll give in. How romantic.

Also, it's now all her fault and she isn't allowed to flirt or go near a guy now because of it? What's that all about? It's like it's all the woman's fault because the blokes have such big egos and can't cope with a knock back.

Marcus is 35 years old and the way he is handling all this is beyond embarrassing. Noirin is right - she wants a MAN. Not a sexually immature tw@t like Marcus!

This IS Marcus, a man who fashions himself on a fictional super hero. Lives with his mother and has thousands of action hero toys. Pity the man has often demonstrated he actually has a brain, very sad really, deluded twit.

Hmm getting a bit sick of this, so no woman has ever fashioned herself on the looks of a female filmstar? Rachel, last years winner lived with her mum.

because men like Marcus and Sree are sexist dinosaurs Roll Eyes

There's a lot of interesting psychology about the way people touch each other. Unless two people have a relationship based on equality, touching someone else either relates to a sexual come-on or defines your place in a power hierarchy.

If you notice, people only touch people in certain intimate ways when they are of lower status than them, never the other way round - e.g your boss could put an arm round your shoulder, but it's unlikely to happen the other way around.

therefore a lot of blokes when hugged by a woman, do not register that it could be an equal treating someone like an equal and they register it instead as a sexual approach.

This is what Sree and Marcus have been doing with Noirin...she can't be their equal/friend so she must be gagging for it Roll Eyes

Contrast them with a straight man like Siavash who is a man who is happy with treating people as equals, whether gay or straight - he is happy to hug everyone Big Grin

Noirin hasn't really been guilty of leading the blokes on in the first place...but she is a stupid girl not to put a stop to it when it's obvious that the guys have been interpreting it this way.. Roll Eyes

Marcus isn't exactly rooted in reality though, is he? Think DR and his stated worry before he entered that all the women in the house would fancy him? It was either *extreme* tongue-in-cheek or evidence that the man's the poster boy for deluded dafties. It's odd really, he seems quite perceptive about others at times; I guess his ego defences are so firmly entrenched that they could keep back the North Atlantic. Disappointed

I must be the only one who thinks Noirin is in the wrong. I feel a certain amount of sympathy for Marcus as she played him very nicely. She knew he was smitten with her, but still carried on with teasing him i.e sitting on his lap, going under the duvet with him, offering to give him massages, platting his hair etc. Of course a guy would think a woman was interested in him if she did that, especially if he fancied her. She should've told him right at the beginning. It is no coincidence that she did the same thing to Sree and has now done the same thing to Marcus, then acts the innocent. She is a P teaser no doubt about it.

Not having live feed makes it nigh on impossible to judge how much encouragement Noirin's given the guys...but Marcus' delusion seems to know no bounds and the most innocent gesture is seen as a come on.

We must remember that Noirin had a life before BB, she had the same looks before BB and I'd find it hard to believe that she hasn't come across this kind of thing before with attracting male attention.

In an environment such as the BB house, it is vital to put people in the picture when lust rears it's 'head', otherwise it's hardly fair to moan when that lust takes hold and becomes creepy.

She should have nipped it in the bud with Sree and indeed Marcus, the fact that she has failed to do this not once but twice tells me that Noirin is comfortable with men fawning over her for her looks and will let it continue until SHE decides to complain.

That pretty much gives Noirin the power all the way down the line, which is a shame as she has no character to back it up, and that's what keep people for the long haul, when the bits have headed south!

she's not innocent....as she lets things carry on too much long, possibly cos she enjoys the attention, so she's little right to complain when she gets into bed with one of them Roll Eyes

but she doesn't appear to have started the ball rolling with Sree or Marcus...it's them reading too much into her actions at the start that's caused most of the problems. Nod

Well, me personally, would not have sat on Marcus’ lap for half a can of cider – the only signals sent by that liaison were smoke signals – and where there is smoke – there is fire!

You're not the only one. I think that sort of stuff is outrageous in the real world; real deep body blow stuff when messing with feelings and sexual drive together. It's power games, and nasty.

Being friendly is a marvellous trait, the crime isn't in being friendly. When that friendliness is mistaken for attraction though it's really not fair to let it roll until it gets bent out of shape.

It's dead simple to sit someone down and say that although they are a great person, you are not attracted to them physically.

Lots of friendly flirty people have to suffer unwanted affection, sadly it goes with the turf, it's knowing what to do when it happens that makes a difference.

Tend to agree with you there LL. She must be thick not to realise what affect she`s having and all she`s done is re-inforce it. Its as if she`s testing her power.

Is this a leading comment for a rape discussion by any chance? Ninja

Both are at fault, probably. He should be in control of himself whether or not someone is messing about with his head and body, deliberately or otherwise. If she's doing it, or has done it, deliberately then she deserves flak for it but that doesn't mean it gives him any right to actions, just judgements.

I think this is why so many women enjoy being with gay men - because you can have a friendly and sometimes flirty relationship with both sides knowing its not leading to sex. Its safe and women can be themselves.

Thats fair comment....but there are also many heterosexual men who enjoy female company without wanting a sexual relationship.
I tend to relate better to men than women..and only once have I ever had to put a male friend in his place. Smiler
