Why are they the worst offenders? Confused

Oh and good on them for gaining all those seats Nod

I know your a Tory Liverpoollass, but read the papers they are indeed the worst offenders in the expenses scandal, and I don't understand why they have either Lockes, tbh whoever is in power when things go tits up will get the blame, but for me the man in the seat is the only option at the moment to get us out of this god awful place we find ourselves in.

They are not the worst offenders its just that some of the things on their lists made good headlines. Cleaning moats and buying duck houses is so much more headline making than fiddling your mortgage and flipping your homes, both of which loads of Labour MP's have been guilty of. It really is bad on both sides.

Thing is though, I don't think it is just the expenses scandal that are causing people to vote Conservative. I think it is the fact that Labour are finished and we have a government in crisis who have, over a period of time, put this country in crisis.

No way, are they worst than Labour in this expenses scandal. It just looks good to bash the Tories again Roll Eyes

I think there must be quite a few, in all the parties, who are not fiddling their expenses but unfortunately the ones that are have tarred all MP's with the same brush.

see I do think its the anger of the expenses scandal but also to a degree the recession too, but if the Tories were in place let me tell you, they'd leave a lot of people to rot in this recession. At least GB and the likes have tried to stem the damage a little and yes I know have put this country into debt for many years to come, but what was the alternative?

Good morning Lass and well said. The economy of this country is in a terrible condition and getting worse under Labour. Its no good saying its the same the whole world over because there's no doubt its worse here, and worse than I have ever known it. Labour are not even trying to govern now they are just squabbling among themselves like a group of overgrown children. We need to cut through this mess and try to put things right.

I am afraid that I am neither. I am almost certainly older than you and I have a very very good memory. Thing is its not easy to pull the wool over my eyes.

Gordon Brown was also less than consistent in his condemnation of those who had been caught out.

And Gordon Brown was flipping with the best of 'em!!

Absolutely agree, but I fear we are, once again,

My local Tory MP has been fiddling. His second home(in his constituency) is ex local authority yet has been furnished with antique and bespoke furniture..purchased by a certain leader of the oppostions ma in law.
The reason Labour have been targetted is because it was the Torygraph broke the story first and exposed the Labour MPs indiscretions first.

Ironically the Telegraph is owned by the extremely secretive/private Barclay twins. Once attempted to sue Private Eye magazine for revealing their date of birth.

A basic subsistance allowance should be paid whilst they are in London..anything else they should pay for themselves.

Sorted.

Hi Lass, I know its uphill work but I will keep saying it because otherwise more gullible people will really believe that the Tories are the only ones found with their hands in the cookie jar and poor old Labour are squeaky clean. They have been a really poor government and now that the game is up I guess I will just have to keep on 'telling it like it is' Wave

An unbiased viewpoint would tell you that there are faults on both sides in the expenses scandal. Unfortunately Labour have no-one else to blame but themselves for all the other things that are wrong with this country at the moment.

I apologised for not sending a plasma television but suggested she took the 1st plasma tv from her 1st nominated 2nd home along to her 2nd second nominated home.

I have yet to have any response from her.

the worst one for me, was the labour mp who claimed back a ÂĢ5 charity donation, honest mistake he said , being all confused and remorseful on the telly, whata load of ballcocks, his mate made the donation and asked for the fiver back, the mp gives him the fiver back and asks for a receipt.
mistake my arse, only one reason you'd want a receipt.

Thats me...but as I say my own MP is one of the good ones....and a good constituency MP to boot...it would be a shame to lose him because of the actions of others.
