Feel less guilty about that peanut butter Kit Kat Chunky I ate the other day now
Awww, thank you sweet. Oddly, I weighed myself this morn (hadnt' since Tuesday) and I was 3 pounds lighter than tuesday... so I guess weight does fluctuate. Hopefully I will be another 3 pounds lighter by next Friday! Marguerita and Pengy I am sorry for your struggeles too, but yes your medication is important.
Sparkles, Sazbomb is right sometimes weight can fluctuate on the scales, depending on what food/liquid is in your stomach at the time. I always weigh myself the same time each week, Monday moring before breakfast to get an accurate reading. Also remember to put the scales in the same place preferably on a hard floor. I found that my weight reading changed about 2lbs from carpet to hard floor lol.

I have to put mine in the kitchen cos it's the only hard floor in the flat
I've just done a ten minute brisk walk/slow jog on the treadmill - we bought it downstairs on Jan 2nd and i've been promising myself I'd get started! Well I did tonight ....................three tracks of a CD - it's a start!
Thats a good start Soozy your stamina gradually goes up after time
I always go on my exercise bike to music, iplayer or even films.
Has anyone tried The Dukan diet? In a bit of a mad moment I bought the book the other day! Not an easy diet to follow I wouldn't think. If it were proven to have fabulous results I'd maybe do it short term but .................I don't know what I was thinking TBH!
Slimming World works for me (once i really commit) - don't know why i just don't go back - I'm just a bit embarrassed that she'll go 'OH NO NOT YOU AGAIN!'

I weigh myself in the kitchen too, funnily enough, I've just realised in front of the fridge
Perhaps a psychological thing?

Soozy, Dukan is a high protein diet isn't it? I'm on Atkins which is similar? The results were excellent especially initially. Its hard to say what happened in the medium term, because then I was put on meds which caused weight gain, and tore a muscle in my leg so couldn't exercise for weeks.
But I reckon high protein diets do work if you can stick the diet change, and try to eat as healthy food as you can within the range of foods you're allowed.
We all are! Diet - in its true sense - just means what we eat.
Buggered up tonight .....................a friend (who's watching his weight) bought a bottle of bubbly and a huuuuuuuuuuuuge box of choccies as a belated birthday gift for Mr Woo - he put his hands up and said the chocs were a Christmas pressie that he has too much will power to eat. Cheers . We don't have willpower - anyone know where you can buy that stuff
Soozy i have never watched what i eat but the app (you can use the website too (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/) that sweet suggested has really worked for me! it's made me really think about what i eat and about how much of it!... i still eat chocolate just i cant bring myself to eat too much of it as i know the chunk it takes out of my daily cal allowance.... bah what works for doesn't for others

pretty obvious she meant the inverted commas around the word diet in the thread title..
and I think we are all educated enough to know that the word diet is used a lot to express the cutting down to lose weight thing as well as its original meaning. .kinda accepted into the language now to mean that as well. .

Especially when prefixed with the word January

I saw it rosie, but I also heard that she said she was happier fat. !!! I never am and am much happier at a size 14 or less. She said she dieted for her health and was happy as a big girl.
