If so how are you getting on? What are you doing differently (apart from eating less! lol) have you taken up more exercise? yoga?

I've never actually 'gone on a diet' if i'm honest... whenever clothes get a bit tight i normally just eat less crap, however my baby is now 16motnhs old and i'm still bigger than i was! So Im swapping out my usual meals for the healthier alternatives, things like wholemeal bread instead of white for example. Cutting down on boozing (even though i drink vodka and diet coke which is one of the lowest calorie drinks) I maybe cut down portion size too.

I'm not exactly dieting but watching my calorie intake, I don't like this "you can't eat this & that" philosophy. I'm more of an eat what you want but make sure you burn it off, kinda girl. There's a wonderful free calorie counter app on iPhone, called "my fitness pal" you can even scan barcodes with it and it'll find your food and instantly have the calorie amount for you

Thats nothing Sazbomb, you must have been very restrained over Christmas! I put on 8lbs over the holidays

I'm back on Atkins, and back on the exercise bike  Hoping to lose 1lb a week

I'm not even gonna attempt it, I lurve carbs!

Rosie, I've been 'cutting down'  (I don't really want to say 'on a diet' ) for a while, and was only about 1kg away from the target I set myself before xmas, so I'm a bit annoyed but I'm back on the good stuff and exercise now I'm trying not to restrict myself too much, eat good things, but if I really want some chocolate or a bit of cake then not to beat myself up about it... I find that if I don't allow myself stuff then I'm setting myself up for failure as I'll eventually cave in and eat a whole stack of profiteroles in one go

Hi Jenstar.

I do drink a lot of water but I think because I am getting so little exercise, and it's cold and it's winter and all, the weight isn't piling on but it isn't shifting either.  I think I need to step up the exercise to speed up my metabolism.  Doesn't help that I am mid 40s either.    The weight is falling off my two teen lasses and my hubby.  But I am static.  I am just so fecked off!

I have never been on a diet I put weight on when I have to go on steroids for a long time, and find it very hard  and takes such a long time to lose that extra weight,I cut out chocolate etc eat the same meals more or less only smaller portions,  the only excercise I can physically do is swimming.. which I love.. and it does work for me..

Marguerita

I'm not on a diet as such but I am trying to lose weight.  I am adopting the mantra - Lose Weight Move More   my problem is actually the moving more because I'm not keen on exercise and lead a rather sedatiary life and then blame it on my arthritis

however, I have tried walking much more and have lost 3lb this week

Awww, thank you sweet.  Oddly, I weighed myself this morn (hadnt' since Tuesday) and I was 3 pounds lighter than tuesday... so I guess weight does fluctuate.  Hopefully I will be another 3 pounds lighter by next Friday!  Marguerita and Pengy  I am sorry for your struggeles too, but yes your medication is important.

Sparkles, I usually weigh myself on a Sunday morning - weight fluctuates throughout the day and you're always heavier at night (obviously ) and I heard somewhere to only weigh yourself once a week

Anyway, I'm going out for dinner tonight, so decided to weigh myself this morning instead of tomorrow and have lost 500g (half a pound) since last week Have almost lost all of the xmas weight now, 400g still to go (I put on about 1.5 kg - 2.5lbs ) and my original target weight is back in sight
