I'm sure this must have been done before here, but maybe its time to try again!

So. If you could invite 6 people to Christmas dinner, dead or alive, who would they be?

Mine is, without any thinking right now -

Charles Darwin (you know him, right?)

Shelly (cos I hate his poetry and I'd love to give him hell).

Thatcher.

Osama Bin Laden.

David Hare. (playwright).

Nick Davies, (Guardian journo).

Over to you guys!

Edited to keep its clean! Eeeek!  Well, as best you can.

I would like to see how he responded to Henry V111 and Dickens......My Dad was My Dad and selfishly I never granted him with a youth....I now know he had one, and would like to find out about it

Syd  I'm pretty much the same re my dad. I'm having a canvas print made for my mum for Christmas ...........it's a picture of her and my dad cutting their wedding cake, She was twenty one - he was twenty. I've seen the picture so many times but I've only just realised how handsome he was (not unlike Tony Curtis). Also ..................everyone has always said how much my sister looks like him and I've suddenly seen it.

He died aged 58 (too young) - I would have loved to have known him better!

I know, trouble is with youth and parents, we take them for granted and think they will always be around...My parents gave me a lovely childhood and I am grateful for that, just wish I had said it out loud, instead of giving them grief.

You really would love Harry Chapin - a singer song writer who died 30 years ago (Cats in the Cradle, WOLD) - his only two hits in the UK. I saw him in concert many times - great songs/great stories and a really inspirational guy.

Neil Kinnock ................because - I really believed in him - I thought he could have done great things - I never got over his defeat in the 1992 election - I think things could have been very different.

Tony Curtis - I had a crush on him from about age 7 onwards after seeing him in Taras Bulba

My Grandma...we'd have so much to talk about...17yrs worth of stuff including MrB and the mini-Bods....she would be overwhelmed so lots of gin needed!!!

MrB...so he and my Grandma could get to know each other properly.

Elizabeth I...so I could get her drunk and find out if she really was a virgin!

Frank Sinatra....for the stories and  the after dinner sing-a-long!

Sean Bean....no real explanation needed!

Charles Dickens (popular chap!!)....he could read A Christmas Carol to us after the sing-a-long....bliss!

MrsB

James Stewart ----  he always seemed so lovely

Denzel Washington....  he's gorgeous

George Clooney....  he's even more gorgeous

Earnest Shackleton..... I find his (and his parties) trek across Antarctica totally amazing

and

My mum and dad (for the same reason as Syd and to be able to tell them how right they were about so many things)

Now that would be a chaotic, and legendary get together.

And.. I don't even care if Rex can't make it..       I know we'd be too busy having a total laugh to be that bothered about him anyway
