Just arrived back from my overnighter in London. Went to see Love Never Dies and I promised a review!

I'm just so glad that I didn't read all the reviews beforehand. It got an absolute panning by the critics
I simply loved it! I was never really bowled over by Phantom and didn't have high expectattions for this show (the tickets were a gift). I thought it was sensational ...............although there were probably only two or three really good numbers the set, staging, costumes and storyline were wonderful - as were the cast. I was totally mesmerised from beginning to end - it's a mixture of 'art noveau', 'gothic' and'burlesque' all rolled into one and yet it all worked so well together. The little boy 'Gustav' played a fantastic part and the Phantom (forget his real name for the mo) was superb!

Unfortunately my husband was a little unwell last night and this morning (not alcohol induced) - he suffers now and the with diverticulitis so we didn't get to go to the National Gallery and British museum as we planned today - I also felt a bit of a pig stuffing my face on afternoon tea and a gorgeous blue cheese burger at the Gourmet Burger Kitchen whilst he just nibbled (so unlike him and such a shame).

Good food, good wine a great show and all in all a fantastic evening!
