Its really hard work, and my legs feel like jelly when I get off it - it must be doing some good, right? Laugh

I'd like to think so Saz... Wink

It's about 600 dietary calories for an hour's use at a generally manageable setting. Plus the general toning up and muscle building which ought to increase the base line metabolism generally. It's considerably better than jogging when you think about impact damage to joints and stuff.

Amazon were doing a very substantial one, gym quality really, for ÂĢ340 a little while ago. Quiet running, magnetic resistance, and well constructed.

I use it intermitently, swapping with the rowing machine. Usually burn about 260 cals in 15 mins.

A concerned bystander (read interfearing busy-body) noticed that I've been doing it backwards for the last three years. It still works but it is much easier to do it forward.

Not really lost any weight as I eat like a pig but it's good for a non-impact workout (whatever that is).

Talking of gyms..... I was at the gym today, and saw this girl on what looks like a cross trainer, but the foot things go sort of sideways, like skating or something. So obviously I don't know what it's called. Anyway the whole time I was at the gym she was going hell for leather on this machine. When I got off the x trainer at the end of my stint, I glanced up and saw that she'd been on that machine for 67 mins and had used 900 odd calories? Can that be healthy fgs?! She was skinny as a rake too. Shake Head
