Yes Sarah Jane, the actress had a spin off in recent year on Cbbc until she passed away.

I never heard of it until Eccelstone(sp) so i am Dr Who Newbie.. mine is Tennant as Dr with Matt in 2nd place and Clara.... I just love her... Amy and Rose were good but Clara has a brain and is a bit ballsy!

My first Doctor, Tom Baker and Sarah Jane.

There was a great drama on BBC2 tonight, about the origins of Doctor Who and the first Doctor, William Hartnell. Had a lump in my throat at the end.

My earliest childhood memories are of Jon Pertwee as the The Doctor assisted by the impish Jo Grant. Classic era mostly set on earth (with the Tardis broken) and often featuring Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart with his UNIT team, and, as also pictured, The Master.

The Master, always loved it when he was in the shows. Defo the best Doctor Who era. This master was evil looking and sinister unlike the John Simm (was it him) Master.

Sadly the actor that played The Master (Roger Delgado) died in a car accident while on location for a film in Turkey during 1973. There was an episode “in progress” at the time which was never completed.

The Doctor and Jo were like a teacher/student relationship and many of the stories seemed action packed and full of danger. Of the Doctor/companion pairings up until the 1989 cancellation i think maybe only Tom Baker and Sarah Jane was better.

I would still be curious to see the "in progress" work if filmed in a sort of documentary style.
