We didn't have a trefoil in my troupe. We were divided into groups of six, with a Sixer and a Seconder (two yellow horizontal stripes on your left sleeve for a Sixer and one for a Seconder). Each group was given a name and you sewed a badge onto your left breast pocket which depicted the name of your  group. Our groups were all types of sprites. Pixie, elf, imp, etc.

Now I think of it, we may have had a small trefoil pin on our ties. We had real ties in those days - which doubles as a bandage/ sling in an emergency.

Our guides were similar but the groups were all names of flowers.

I eventually stopped going to both the brownies and guides because they didn't seem to take things seriously  and I never got to advance. In the brownies I sat several proficiency badge tests several times, but never got any badges because they kept losing bits of what I had done and so I had to do them again, by which time they had lost another bit, and so on it went. I was there long enough to become the Seconder of my group, but they always forgot to bring me a stripe, so finally I gave up in frustration/disgust.

In the Guides we did drilling and inspections every week, but in the main part it was just faffing about.

So eventually I gave up on them too.

28 years young.  2 boys aged 10 and 6.  Been with the OH since I was 17, still living in sin, no plans to get married but maybe one day when we can afford it.
