Have you ever read 'Good Omens' by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman?

No! I haven't read it.
Oh, you really should, ditty...there aren't many books about the Apocalypse that'll have you laughing out loud, but Good Omens will.

And here's the reference to Queen songs....

"Crowley was currently doing 110mph somewhere east of Slough. Nothing about him looked particularly demonic, at least by classical standards. No horns, no wings. Admittedly, he was listening to a Best of Queen tape, but no conclusions should be drawn from this because all tapes left in a car for more than about a fortnight metamorphose into Best of Queen albums. No particularly demonic thoughts were going through his head. In fact, he was currently wondering vaguely who Moey and Shandon were."

Yes, I did just dig out my copy....

Good Omens was FABulous!! I remember that part, too, right at the beginning. I love Neil Gaiman, too. Have read lots of his stuff. We host a message board for his fans, and one of their moderators sent me a couple of books a few years ago.
I have to admit that the only other Neil Gaiman book I've read is Neverwhere, which is brilliant (although, on reflection, it was probably a bad idea to start reading it on the Tube....)
I'm re-reading it at the moment, which is probably why I remembered those references.

Or it might just be cause I'm weird...

So do we know who the Cool Kids are yet?
I've decided that it must be me because by denying my coolness I have achieved a state of coolness in the sense of being so cool that I don't even know how cool I am and therefore I am uber-cool.

Once I realise this however I will no longer have said state of coolness as the self-awareness will automatically preclude any perceived coolness.
