The person that originated the idea of emoticons was Scott Fahlman. The person that first suggested to Ted the idea of taking Mr. Fahlman's idea, introducing them to our message boards, then changing Fahlman's keystrokes :-) and converting them into actual images Smiler is named Graeme. As it's Graeme's idea we call them graemlins. Our UBB message board was the first to have this.
