Sadly no, that's the biggest problem. The forum there is not really as easy as this one, but far, far better than the first tme I looked at it.

Credit to Zaphoid, Ducky, EFFT, and many others who have been very upfront with what needs to be done and thankfully the mods have listened to most of it and it is a bit better.

Still not 100% about it myself, but am giving it a go and hope to see fellow FM over there.

It doesn't stop the spam though Shar. I have seen a massive increase in spam emails since signing up first to here then to LC.

When you joined BB, as far as I know there was an option as to whether you wanted to receive emails or not (apart from the alerts etc.) ... I remember clicking the box saying 'no' to this ...

I stopped the email alerts with Liri's help Shar, but the spam keeps on rolling in. I can only assume that our email addresses have been sold to advertisers.

I've clicked mine and they have stopped, because I was getting billions!!

i never read spam and it goes in me junkmail so it dont bother me.

Sorry BB ... but with respect I was just trying to offer an explanation as to why you were receiving spam emails and I wasn't ... maybe it doesn't have anything to do with clicking boxes ... *shrugs*

I don't agree that this community has been ruined ... the forum hasn't been moved over yet ... and I'm going to stop now, because I feel like a broken record ...

They did'nt ruin anything BB, they gave us thanks to Bov a lovely new home, they did'nt have to..if it was'nt for these lovely people we would have been cast to the four corners when ch4 kicked us out....

This is all just going round and round in circles.

Some love it and will praise it to the skies, some can't stand it and will find anything to say against it, most are worried by the fact it is more difficult to manoeuvre around there and also that they are worried that it will fragment the close knit community we have here, others welcome the new members, who are in the main really nice, but some are quite strange, I mean I have read some very strange blogs on there!!

My thoughts:- at first I thought ohmygod I can't use THIS, loads of running problems and even though the blog and walls were fun, found it difficult to go and write on peoples walls willy nilly as rather shy in RL and not sure how people will take me, had a stage where all I could do was moan about it, and I did register on the Hub, but I think a lot of that was a slight amount of overkill from people who liked it there and were just trying to help, but was making me more sure I wasn't going to go there under any circumstances!

Then went over quietly one night last week because it was quiet on here and had a wander around, found some names I knew and took a deep breath and posted on their walls and posted on a couple of threads on the Ship and surprise surprise it was ok.

I like it here, I feel comfortable here, but if we have to go, then to feel comfortable and to post with the people who in the main I like, I go there, simple. The other option is to find another forum and start again, which I don't want to do.

To the not yet convinced I say, just give it a go, post rude things on my wall if you want (well not too rude!!) and lets just TRY. Do we really want to lose the community spirit that we have here?

To the definite no's, it's a shame and you will be missed.

Hmmmm. The email address I use for LC isn't my primary email so I don't check it every day. I had unticked all the boxes to do with emails/alerts but just checked the addy and had loads of alerts. I'll tick the "On vacation" to see if it makes a difference. I'm going away next Tuesday anyway for 2 weeks so hope that works

Excellent post PB ... I agree with your sentiments in the main ...

LC is big ... and there is a lot to take in ... but the point is it's not necessary to take it all in if you don't want to ... when the forum is moved over, nobody will have to post outside of that if they don't want to ... BUT ... I do think a lot of people will take advantage of the fact that LC offers a lot more than just posting in a forum ...

Some will ... some won't ... but we will still all be together if we want to be ... nothing has been taken from us ... we were offered this forum as a sanctuary when we were in need ... we're not being hard done by (IMO) with the move to LC ...

Another thing, the quoting on LC was putting a lot of people off, yet having done it a few times, I now find myself doing it over here to pick out the things that are important or relevant in a post for me to answer.
