An apple crumble with a difference. I cook the apple for a short time to soften, then place in a pie dish. Then I add some blueberries and raspberries on top. I add some broken up digestive biscuits to the crumble mix before putting the mix over the fruit.
Crispy Shredded Chill Beef with Carrots...
I keep saying I will type the recipe out (someone on here wanted it).. I must get round to doing it.
Its the only thing I can cook that is exactly like you get from the takeaway or in restaurants... sometimes mine is even better
My hubby reckons it's my homemade steak and kidney pie. He said if he had to choose one last meal that's what he wants.
Oh I can't cook but I like this thread already. If someone posts something that looks easy enough and I like the sound of I will attempt it. It'll taste like shit when I make it but I will be all chuffed with myself for doing it

Slow-cooked braised lamb steaks, from a Nigel Slater recipe.
Made it loads of times and it's yummmmm..
Fried chicken breasts with a sauce made from fried cherry tomatoes, pesto and creme fraiche. It's very simple but delicious.
Second would have to be beef ragout - a thick beef casserole made with onions, muchrooms, carrots and tomato puree.
In recent memory it would be, Armagnac and Earl Grey Ice Cream with Armagnac and Earl Grey Poached Prunes and Sesame Tuiles. I ripped it off from Tom Kitchin after hassling him for the recipe.
parmesan chicken.
Chicken coated in garlic, breadcrumbs, fresh coriander and parmesan cheese.
Or chicken jalfrezi I am informed..
I do a pretty good melanzane parmigiana - had it when I was in Italy and had to look up a recipe and give it a go when I got back

Gathered some wild garlic recently. Just had as a salad but that makes a rather fine soup apparently.

Do a bouillabaise (sp) type thing. Chuck all sorts of crap in that and just jazz it up with some monkfish or langoustines or whatever.
Antiope ... I am just looking at that. I think that's the route I shall take. Either that or lamb shanks - but the fish will be a bit lighter.
Ta
That's the last time I offer my assistance to Rexi on her dinner parties for 14,000 people.
If it was fish related she could have offered bread as well and had some sort of biblical thing.
but OH NO....
Pah
Yeah - but you would cook vindaloo and have the loo roll nicely chilling in the fridge
Pah back

What song can you sing whilst preparing fish??

"when the boat comes in"
"when the boat comes in"
I'll practise my scales now
bouillabaisse is lovely!

fin(k) that's a good idea
We really should stop this
In fact - back on topic - the chocolate brownies in Jamie's 30 minute meals ... mmmmm
I have actually managed to convince myself that they have no calories because I make them so often (please don't anyone tell me the truth)

It is easy. Just takes a bit of time to really get loads of flavour. Get your fishmonger to give you loads of bones and shit to get the stock nice and strong.

I cook this quite a lot and it's always a winner (with me).

my mum would moan if it was hard to make Rexi...
she moans when I ask her to make sweetcorn & pepper flan saying that is too complicated (cos she has to bake the pastry blind) ... so if she moans about that, but not bouillabaisse ...
