Ive often wondered what the point of wasps is they seem totally pointless.

I'm going to think of a serious one now, I promise!

^^^^ I don't think that's a good enough reason for keeping them, the bees and other insects can cope with the pollenation.

Wasps are here to amuse me, I love it on a hot sunny day (a what???) when you see people doing the 'arrgh there's a wasp next to me' dance.  

I once witnessed my sister throw her purse at one as she was running away.

We are keeping the flutterbies, Ducky.

They are pretty and gentle and will pollenate the flowers when we have exterminated the wasps.

My sister would agree with the point you make. I once had a wasp land on my bum....and she still laughs everytime she thinks of the wiggly bum dance I did.

My husband (a six footer and built like a tank) does that - accompanied by loud whooping noises. It's soooooo embarrassing.

Noooooo butterflies are not pointless, they are beautiful! Where would we be without butterflies? What would kittens chase? What would we adorn our summer dress prints with? what would make a good logo for all things picnicy, what other 'safe option' would woman have tattooed on their shoulder and back? and imagine not growing up without reading the hungry caterpillar Munch munch munch. Noooo they are not pointless.
