^^^^ I don't think that's a good enough reason for keeping them, the bees and other insects can cope with the pollenation.

Noooooo butterflies are not pointless, they are beautiful! Where would we be without butterflies? What would kittens chase? What would we adorn our summer dress prints with? what would make a good logo for all things picnicy, what other 'safe option' would woman have tattooed on their shoulder and back? and imagine not growing up without reading the hungry caterpillar Munch munch munch. Noooo they are not pointless.
