is there any real reason for wasps to exist? I think I could live with the "garden pests" that they kill off rather than them

Ive often wondered what the point of wasps is 
they seem totally pointless.
I'm going to think of a serious one now, I promise!
From Wiki: Wasps can effectively transport pollen and therefore contribute for the pollination of several plant species, being potential or even efficient pollinators [2].
^^^^ I don't think that's a good enough reason for keeping them, the bees and other insects can cope with the pollenation.

We are keeping the flutterbies, Ducky.
They are pretty and gentle and will pollenate the flowers when we have exterminated the wasps.
