Shite respite? Humble hovel? Mediocre manor?

Oi...am in Bucks!Razzer

And not a million miles from where you mentioned.Wink

Ooh you're near me Queenie?? Princes Risborough? Aylesbury? I miss London too, hence why I'm going back after 4 years - I've done my stint, although Crackney wouldn't dare call me back Glance

It is! We have lived in this house for 26 years but we have to move now. It breaks my heart.

Aww you are kidding?! What a horrible thing to have to do.

I hope your new place is lovely as well and remember you can create lots of new memories in it!

Yes. We're pensioners now, and the very large garden (which I did from scratch) is too much for my husband to manage because I am incapable of getting into the garden. Also we have to rely on him being able to carry on driving as we're 18 miles from the nearest town and supermarket. Realistically he won't be able to carry on driving for ever. Also the glen is unsuitable for my wheelchair. So the time has finally come for us to move.

Awww... as long as you're together you'll be fine Hug

Not far from Wycombe Wanders, just a stone throw away.

Lived in North West and North London most of my life, been in Bucks since 2000. I hated it at first but it's not so bad now.

Whereabouts are you?

I'm in the 'nice' bit of Castlefield Big Grin The leafy secluded bit. Where did you live in North London?

I wish you both all the best and hope that you make many more happy memories in your new home.

I had to move away from the area I'd known for a very long time - it was a struggle; I'd love to have been able to move knowing it was for the best rather than enforced.
But time moves on and life becomes better for all the right reasons in the end.

Gosh, I would hate being forced to move. I do like moving around and get bored of staying in one place for too long but being forced to move would be a different kettle of fish. I do sympathise Hug

There's a nice bit in Castlefield? Much have missed that!Ninja

Hubby was born in Hackney and moved to Tottenham...so we're North London through and through.

Not been to Camden for ages...used to go to Jazz Cafe there.

Actually, the 'forced' turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Obviously at the time it was distressing......but I had the last laugh. And the longest. Big Grin

I've been laughing ever since. Wink

Lol! Well I was TOLD that I lived in the nice bit. I'm not a true Wycombite so I don't really know the areas. But my road is very nice and quiet and leafy (God why am I moving to Camden again?). Not at all like Chairborough Road or areas like that Shake Head

By the way, I work 5 mins away from Mill Hill and lived my whole life in Hackney. Crikey, talk about coincidence! Smiler And I sang at the Jazz Cafe Glance

I live in a beautiful village in Cambridgeshire. We moved from East London 21 years ago, occassionally we go back to see relatives, and it really scares me. Can't believe I lived there, total shite hole. I feel really sorry for the people who are stuck there and want to move.

Bunny, so sorry you have to move, hopefully it won't be too far. Hug

We keep looking for the perfect location. But we're completely spoiled now so it's all about compromise. But we may have found what we're wanting, fingers crossed, so lets hope we find a suitable house there.

Thanks, while our move will be enforced, it will be for the best, so I'm hoping that it all works out well in the end.

Well it's a buyer's market at the moment so as long as your purchase doesn't depend on the sale of your own property it should be all good for you and hubbie. Good luck Smiler

Thanks. Hug It will be much further south to where we are now, but that means it will be nearer for my daughter and her family to visit us so it's all good.

We will have to sell our house before we can buy, but this is the Scottish legal system and it's a good one, no chain involved in house purchasing here so we won't be getting stupid prospective buyers making an offer when they don't have the means to conclude the purchase in 3 weeks. So that will make us cash buyers when we come to buy and that will put us in a very good position hopefully.

I don't like saying her exact location on here, but it's not that far from Holmefirth. I once lived in the Lancaster area for over 30 years but I've never been to that part of Yorkshire and it's too far for me to travel these days. We miss seeing the grandchildren too. But they try and manage to visit twice a year if they can, work and finances permitting. But babies grow so quickly.
