I quoted all three names as I know some regions call the main meal of the day different to others

Where i am it is usually dinner or lunch at mid dayish and then Tea in the evening and supper is something we dont have but others maybe have just before bed

I live in a Farming area and the men often have early starts so they have a pack up with them - an early Tea around 4ish and then supper of cheese , pickles etc around 8-9pm before an early night to bed

What are you having today ?

Does anyone bake their own bread ?

Does anyone make their own soups ?

Does anyone use a slow cooker / croc pot ?

I occassionally make soup - never make bread - and use and love my slow cooker

today for tea  I am  doing   Rogan Josh curry with rice and nairn bread

I call the midday meal lunch and then the evening meal dinner which we usually have between 6-8pm, although we do sometimes call it tea, especially if we have it earlier and we're having something like egg and chips. We generally only have supper if we've had an earlier dinner and it's usually just something like cheese and biscuits.

I frequently make my own soup and bread and also use and love my slow cooker.

I've had a Lancashire Hotpot on a low oven since 11am which will be ready to serve when OH gets in from work at around 7pm tonight.

asked as I was over on Martin Lewis money expert site earlier and the threads on there regarding bread making , slow cooking etc are huge - wondered how many here did the same
That's Ok Mrs H... it is an interesting thread.  I made my own bread continuously for about 2 years when someone gave me a bread maker...... but then the novelty finally wore off, and now I just do it for high days and holidays. Regards the slow cooker, we bought one when they first came fashionable, and I did use it a few times when I was working, but again the novelty wore off (easily bored me),  and now I am retired.........

We call it either tea or dinner and lunch and dinner.

I do make my own soups - had some leftover Broc and stilton for lunch.  I also make my own bread - not in a breadmaker, but with flour and yeast and all that.  My favourite is onion and cheese bread that I make when I do a vegetable soup.

Tonight we are having meatloaf - which I make with beef mince and sausage meat.  I make a loaf for dinner and meatballs for tomorrow's dinner.

Tonight we're having sirloin steak with crispy potato slices, mushrooms, sweetcorn and fried tomato.

I have a breadmaker and that's the closest I've gotten to making my own bread.

I make soup about twice a week. Tattie is my fave but I do french onion, tomato and pepper, lentil, broth, pea and ham or a mixture of them

I love my slow cooker. Stews, curries, soups. I need more recipes for it though.

I don't have a bread maker or a slow cooker - but I'd love a slow cooker and we've put one on our Christmas wishlist for the family to see! I make soup because I hate waste - leftovers are ingredients for the next meal - and I still have a very ancient pressure cooker.

Tonight we're having cottage pie with a cheese topping, followed by baked apples with honey and mincemeat.
