Do you know I have sat here as you posted this, closed my eyes trying to think....and all I can say is Saturday morning pictures.....and The Wizard of Oz.....even tho I am sure I watched one I liked more as a kid.....(but it was a very long time ago and my memory is tainted by watching films with my children and grandchildren)
Wizard of Oz
Kickboxer
I can;'t recall ever watching a film as a kid.. couldn't sit still long enough I did have to get carted out of the cinema in floods of tears when my mum took me to see Bambi ( the hunter bit - I've still never seen it all the way through! )
Old Yeller
The Sound of Music
Summer Holiday
My dad always watched musicals and films with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby,so they are my favourites. He also watched the Marx brothers but I never got them, the blonde curly haired one scared me.
I love Willy Wonka
I remember watching the Great Escape and years later finding out that the blind man wasn't really blind.
101 Dalmations
Snow White
Mary Poppins
Sound Of Music
Oliver (the musical)

Doubt i could watch any of the above now but recall seeing each of them at the cinema and no doubt thoroughly enjoying them!

Oooooooooh you had a glamourous mum .......................my mum was/is more Hilda Ogden
I'm with Syd; it was Saturday morning pictures for us as kids - d@mned if I can remember what we watched, although I used to get really rattled because there was ALWAYS a cowboy film for the boys before the main film.
I used to like Saturday afternoons with my mum or nan. We'd watch all the old b&w classics like Now Voyager with Bette Davis, or the Marx Bros as has already been mentioned.
Musicals were always a favourite, especially if Fred 'n Ginger cut a rug.

My niece suggested it for her daughter...........I thought nope I'm not being the one to subject her to that awfulness
Best film ever though - The Quiet Man
Ahh, good call there Slinki
I was brought up on a diet of:
Carry On Films
James Bond Films
Clint Eastwood Films (Still a big fan of his work)
Anything Science Fiction
Spoof films like Our Man Flint / In Like Flint, My Name is Trinity.
Other films I saw as a youngster and like are (in no particular order):
Ipcress Files
The Graduate
The Italian Job
Ocean's Eleven
Some Like It Hot
The Apartment
The Odd Couple
Get Carter
Dark Star
Once Upon a Time in the West
Alfie
... and there are probably many more, but my minds going blank,
I remember being taken to see 2001 A Space Odyssey, did not have a clue what it was about, I was but a child! Although I have it in my collection now.
My fave film from childhood (although an adult film) was 'The Outsider; with Tony Curtis based on a true story about a WW2 Veteran who helped raise the flag at Iwo Jima.....great film.
My mum was horrified by Bambi and walked out mid-show.
She refused to watch any Disney stuff until I was a teen and that was because I'd vetted Jungle Book beforehand for her
Snow White terrified the life out of her (and still does)

Yes, I sort of do but I'd forgotten it was the Bee Gees soundtrack!
White Horses was a favourite but I think it was because we all sang along with the feme toon
Aunt Clara was a hoot.

Exactly the hairstyle mum had ! She'd vary it by flicking the ends out stead of in the way !

Awww.
My mum had the blonde flick-out hairstyle. She used to be on the same train home as me when I was at secondary school. I'd get off and wait on the platform for her, and all the boys from my school would hang out the window wolf whistling her. She even used to stop and chat with them (bloody annoying!) all charming like.
Even more annoying when you're a 5'6" gangly girl in school uniform standing next to a petite little blonde bird
Hahah! ! The joys of having a glam mum
By the way, mum's hair was like Samantha's not Aunt Clara's
