I love a good vampire story 

Those series are often better than the description indicates.

Buffy is my all time favourite tv show and you could never have guessed from the description what quality the writing, acting and storylines were.

 

My fave show from this year was The Killing 

Veggie, The Killing was great too 

On my favourites list I'd put Mad Men [series 4] at no. 2 and The Killing close after at no.3.

Sarah Lund was such a great character... female characters on tv seem just so corny now, after her. 

Another 'Killing' fan here.  Did anyone see Sophie Grabol playing Lund  in the Christmas 'Absolutely Fabulous'  ?

I loved the big fat gypsie wedding programs (that was this year wasnt it ??? )

and by far the best only thing on worth watching this xmas was Great Expectations.

 

 

 

I loved SCD, Masterchef , Professional Masterchef, Great British Menu, Downton , Hotel and Restaurant Inspectors, 4 in a Bed , CDWM and every single repeat of all the various Law & Order series

Yes I did Avalon... wasn't it funny?  

She spoke perfect english too, seemingly without an accent.

I heard that was really good. I must check if its on 4OD. 

 

I agree with these as the two drama highlights of the year. And Gillian Anderson was in both of these.

 

Mrs Jer and I were in the Heart Shop yesterday. As I carried my precious "Rage against the Machine!" CD, and Mrs Jer her Lee Childs novels towards the counter, the lady greeted us with, "Isn't the telly shite?"

It was hard to disagree but TBF it is shite every Christmas.

Umm was she in "Crimson" Loro?..*scratches head* I can't remember her? there were a fair few cameos though... Put me right ... but maybe you're thinking of her in Bleak House?

She's fantastic on BBC anyways

But most importanly - somebody agrees with me on The Crimson Petal and the White   

*smacks head* OH YES she played the mother! You wouldn't have recognised her. She was brilliant too!

It was funny, rosie.  And I loved the way she was poking around in stuff like she does in 'The Killing'

I haven't watched much TV this year at all, I've just been doing marathons of various TV series' that I hadn't watched before.  Dexter, 24, Sopranos, NCIS, NCIS LA and the best of them all Prison Break!  I'm onto Without A Trace now which is pretty good.

I don't watch much TV. Partly because of my hearing and partly because the vast majority of it is so much dross. Thus if I do watch/listen it's got to be something really enjoyable. Generally not too long either, though I did watch/listen to the 6 hours of Pride and Prejudice the other day.

Fave TV programme has to be True Blood! 

I knew no-one else would mention this one.  Celebrity Apprentice USA, it was totally riveting.

I've stopped watching the Soaps so that's left me with plenty of time for other dross: Big Bro, Z Factor, Strictly etc.  All froth and bubble stuff which was made more enjoyable by nattering in the highlight threads.

 

I've enjoyed Downton Abbey and the recent Great Expectations 3 parter mainly because they're a bit of light drama. Always caught up with the Graham Norton Show, HIGNFY and I tried out The Cafe on Sky 1 but that was a real slow burner which never really got going.  Other than that, I've been dipping in to BBC4 and watching a few music biogs.

I have to admit I was a bit dubious about Matt Smith. But he was great, right from the start. He plays it quite quirky. but doesn't overdo it, IMO. I like it.
