Perhaps he was trying to get the spotlight back onto himself after all the drama surrounding Ike and his Bike.

Charlie really thinks he is going to win because he is gay and he knows the show has a huge gay following, he also thinks he is funny, he is not.

But I gather it was because Charlie had `done a Sophie`, or rather done a Charlie - his usual thing of passing on gossip and tittle tattle.
Severl hours later Bea, Siavash and Marcus mentioned it.
Bea said Charlie had seemed upset.
But Marcus and Siavash were unconcerned. They said something about it being his own fault, and it not being the first time, and they had little sympathy for him.
It seemed that Siavash and Marcus had thought the immature boy had cried wolf too often.
(It may not be too long before Charlie is on their nominations list.)
