We always discuss what kind of budget we'll spend now, e.g set about a £20 one for chrimbo and only a card for valentines, but anniversary and birthday we go all out...but it's different when you have joint bank account and that, not terribly romantic!
I might just get him one, maybe he wont realise how much it cost

then you can waste your time wisely looking at fab wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses, satin shoes, planning your hair, nails and honeymoon
