So own up, where are you from and what is the weather like?

It wasn't me.

Lanarkshire, Scotland - It's blazing sunshine here.

I've seen this picture before....

Oh god, the temptation to say more is rather overwhelming.

I remember this picture with a lot of unpleasantness going on here in the early days, so lets get back to rainy Scotland or somewhere.

Doesn't mean it's going to start again though

That's good then.

Lori Devon has been rainy for ages, it's just been the last few days that the weather has been anything resembling summer.

We're used to not getting very many nice days during the summer here but I don't think it's been too bad this year (so far).

Big difference from our summers as a kid when everyday was a water fight and we spent most of the holiday getting told off by mum for getting soaked AGAIN in the street

And if my youngest says again how much he's looking forward to the snow coming I'm going to scream!

I keep hoping we can stop quoting that awful picture. It really is hard on the eyes....

cologne, we have days of rain and then a sunny day or two...just enough to lure us into thinking summer has finally come. Then it rains again.

Yes, sorry. I have to apply myself to getting the hang of deleting some, but not all of the post.

I agree with you.  This past few summers have been OK, despite peoples' constant griping, and this past couple of weeks have been warm! (and the past few months...  ) so why do people say it's cold all the time?!  We had a bit of rain during July and August last year and the year before, but April many and June were lovely, and September was great and October OK too..., And this year has actually been pretty OK... so we may have had a rainy June, but July has been OK, and again, April and May was nice.  On the whole, our summers are generally OK.  And it's a myth that it always rains in Britain: it rains as much (if not more) in North America!  And some other countries...

People forget that we live in a country that is high on the planet and isn't a typically tropical or very warm place.. because we are quite far north... This past few years, all i have heard is 'we have shit summers' and 'oh I am sick and tried of this summer...blah blah blah..' all people do is MOAN!  Every shop I go into, and almost everyone I talk to moans... IMO this summer, and the last few, have been pretty OK.

I know we have had occasions in past decades, when it was 10 to 12 weeks of constant steaming heat and sun, but that is rare... and all anyone ever says is 'remember 76, what happened to summers like that?'  Well actually; really really long hot hot hot summers like that are very very rare and always have been... Summers in general, even many years ago, weren't much longer or hotter than they are now...

In fact, I think I can safely say that it is warmer now on the whole....

Well yes, he's got severe eczema so the warmer days aren't too bad on him but the snow and cold make his skin shrivel up but he's not bothered by that he just loves playing in the thick snow.  Kids are easily amused aren't they?
