Agree with you.  No one has the right to take a life.  Doing that makes you as bad as the person on trial.  Hard labour without any chance of parole, yes, but death, by whatever method, NO.

To tell the truth I don't agree with capital punishment but only because of the fact that they make mistakes and cannot give you you life back when it comes out and the fact that lots of series criminals kill themselves to avoid being caught in order to escape punishment.

Certain offences should mean life forever in a 1950's style jail bring back hard labour and corporal punishment. (in jails not schools)

Each to their own.  I think it's a bit of a WEIRD  question to ask actually.  JMO of course!

I just question what kind of person posts on a message board, and asks how they would prefer to see someone killed.

Would you feel comfortable with paying "A Hit Man"?

Why are you asking me this?  When I have already made it clear that i think it's weird that someone would ask how you would prefer to see someone killed?

I'm not 100% in favour of the death penalty but ...........the case in question has me in complete turmoil. I know Casey Anthony is on trial and innocent until proven guilty but .........................................................................her endless lies all in the caUse of self preservation make me want to slap her petulant face. I'm not sure if she should face the death penalty (if found guilty) but - I'm sorry - it's not nice but it's how I feel right now - I'd want her to have a very, very harsh punishment for many, many years. Not simply because she took the life of her daughter (which at this point I believe she did) but for the sheer hell she is putting her family through ..........................SELF CENTRED, WICKED, EVIL COW .................................................JMO of course.

That's why we have Lawyers and not the hysterical public running the court. ^

No ............that's why we have juries - I have been watching just like the jury. I think she'll be found guilty TBH - I'm not the hysterical public - just an observer - like the jury. Lawyers present the case - the jury decide, That's how it is.

If you'd been following this case then I wouldn't be so sure of that fact. I'd bet my money that most of them are as hysterical (if not more so) than me.

Understand what you are saying......but what is your opinion of Defence Lawyers defending the indefencesable    (don't know how you spell somebody that is without defence)...

Interesting.   I like this.  Have the lawyers make a subjective judgement on what is defensible and what isn't.  If you don't pass muster, cheerio suckah!  No defense for yoooo...

This is the thinking people.  This is the thinking....

Trials cost money, f**k 'em.

I am sure of that fact. If they had been they would have been made contempt of court and removed forthwith.

OK, ok................maybe the person on trial I am talking about has told the truth, and their defence believe her.............

See,  I wonder, if she really is how you describe, but, if she is, how do you imagine that happened?.... Socialised by fabulous, loving and caring parents???

Indeed Soops! I'm still shocked and surprised that my dear FMs are getting their knickers in a twist over an isolated case in a land far far away of which we know very little. Meanwhile someone is up for murdering 7000+ men and boys in our own backyard. I think it was that Joe Stalin one who suggested that a death is a tragedy, thousands are mere statistics ........ Or summat like that.

Being interested and upset at an individual case in America, does not prevent me from feeling horror and revulsion at the massacre of 7000+ Bosnian Muslims.

IMO, the two events are not mutually exclusive.

I can see Joe's point, I mean, there aren't 4 threads about the other case

I can only see two threads about the trial, and this thread which is about chosen methods of execution.

There are lots of things I feel strongly about, that I wouldn't necessarily start threads on, it doesn't mean I have no interest or empathy for the subject.

Actually, I don't often start threads.
