The BBC is the ONLY network with original dramas - and the commercial networks can't understand that is what attracts viewers and advertisers.

ITV has cancelled Primeval, the only programme that can compete with anything the BBC does because it's "too expensive".

Channel 4 relies on American exports to fill their schedules, and repeats them to death. When C4 does have something interesting, like BB, they mess it about so much that they lose viewers.

Thanks Cher, I've saved the link. Hug I just finished watching the second episode on iPlayer and I can't work out who the goodies and the baddies are. Confused I thought the PA was a baddie so is she pretending to be a goodie?

I was gutted they cancelled Primeval. They could save some money by not getting Madonna and Robbie Williams on the X Factor and make another Primeval.

That's what I like about Torchwood - it's not too fluffy and sometimes Jack has to make decisions for the greater good. 10% is a bit high mind, but I can think of a few that I could put on a list! Laugh

i said to my OH "ohhh thats a good chance to get rid of some of the chavvy shits"
poor ianto Ninja

it remined me of battle royal for a bit lol

Owen was bloody brilliant - but he will always be the dweeb from Bleak House who proposed to that girl (can't remember her name) and then quickly retracted his proposal when she got small pox.

Anyway, it's bloody brilliant and something to look forward to of an evening. I love that character - Clement MacDonald who smells people. He smelt that Gwen was preggers and that Janto is queer. (His word choice, not mine before I'm jumped on).

I can't wait for tomorrow!

Ahh... I see your location - I assume you can't view it any other way? Shame. Not sure about the next special TBH, must have a search.

genius Thumbs Up haven't been hooked to a programme like this since the first series of Heroes.

just like the fact that unlike most shows in this genre, it's not overglamourised....people do actually have lardy arsed minging husbands and eat chips Laugh

perhaps that's also why it might be cringeworthy at times but i like it for that Smiler

my OH (big dr who nut) tells me it is november

According to Wiki the Christmas special is in two parts - the final two specials, so there still needs to be one in between to make up the four. November seems very close to Christmas, but hey ho... I can wait.

no Frowner I actually wouldn't mind paying a percentage of the license fee if it gave me access to BBC i-player, but that's only available in the UK Mad It's possible to get Sky illegally over here, but I haven't saved up enough money yet Ninja

I don't bloody know! He (Owen) worked for the law firm that represented Jarvis and Jarvis and she was an orphan, but her mother was that women from X-files and her father was a merchant marine, and they had an affair and then she ended up as a chaperone to another young girl who had a claim to some estate. Then the man who took in two of the claimants to the estate, with the chaperone, wanted to marry her and he was old. She loved the doctor though and ended up marrying him in the end.

Don't blame me about the convulted story telling - it's Dickens!

He may have done . . . I loved Bleak House. I can only understand Dickens when it's done in a play or on TV. I tried to read "A Tale of Two Cities" once and got confused after the opening line "It was the best of times, It was the worse of times." because the next sentence went on for two bloody pages!

It's just brilliant. I wish they'd spend more of the license money on good TV rather than jetting BBC employees around the globe.

Which other commercial channel is doing anything comparable? ITV cancelled it's award winning "Primeval" and Channel 4 can't be bothered to produce ANYTHING watchable that isn't reality programmes - and then they screw it up.

BBC3 and BBC4, don't broadcast during the day even though they have thousands of programmes in archives that they could broadcast 24/7. Yet we have E4 broadcasting endless repeats of "Friends" over and over and over and over and over and over again.
