I just watched it for the first time on BBC iPlayer and I haven't a clue what it's all about.

Is Captain Jack an alien and is he immortal?

What is Torchwood and who do they work for?

Who are the man and woman who are working with Captain Jack? Do they have some special powers?

What is the significance of 456?

Who are the baddies all dressed in black who blew him up and shot the doctor?

Any more info would be appreciated as it looks like a good series if I knew what the hell it was all about.

Thanks. Smiler

bloody good series...i really enjoyed last night Thumbs Up

Torchwood is just an organisation founded by Queen Victoria to fight aliens

Captain Jack is a bit of A Dr Who figure who can't die and is sort of their leader...he's a right old slapper and will bonkmen, women and aliens Big Grin HE's not an alien, but is from the future....you'll have to google the rest of his story as i tend to get lost there

The other two, Ianto and Gwen, are just ordinary people who have been recruited to the organisation by Jack....Gwen used to be policewoman...don't know about Ianto......no special powers...there were others too but they got killed last series.

They're based in Cardiff cos....as everyone who lives there will tell you....there's a big hole in the space-time-continuum wotsit that let's aliens through Laugh

Think that's all you need to know.....you'll have to wait like the rest of us to find out who the people in black are and what the numbers are about

hope that helps Crazy

So Captain Jack is a sort of Time Lord? (I haven't watched Doctor Who since the early 60's so I don't know much about it.)

BB - Torchwood series 1 and 2 are often shown on Watch. I didn't watch them originally, but I recorded them all off there and it's bloomin' fantastic. Spin off from Dr Who, but very much an adult show - I love it and I'm gutted that there are only five episodes and one story this time.

Sort of but whereas Time Lords are actual aliens from Gallifrey, Captain Jack is a boring hold human being. However, he is a time agent from the far-distant future hence his familiarity with some weird gadgets.

He became immortal during one episode of Dr. Who when Rose brought him back to life when she was filled with the energy from the Time Vortex which she used to destroy the original incarnation of the new series Daleks.

I won't say anything else in light of all the geek insults in the Marcus collects figurines thread.

you're asking for trouble BB....I just know that a Dr Who nut will be on to explain in very great detail for you now Laugh Eeker

dont worry i am too tired Ninja

captain jack is a human from the 51st century, he was a time agent who got 2 years of his memory wiped, he met the doctor during world war 2..they fought daleks...jack died and rose (under the power of the tardis) brought him back to life. since then he has been a fixed point in time...whenever he dies he 'resets' into how he was before.

course not sure how that works as he is meant to become the face of boe (in a few billion years) and the face of boe looks like this

Crazy
