I disagree. I think he has an authority that the others respect. The other night JJ wouldn't stop shouting his mouth off until Steve told him to shut up. They need him there as a calming influence.
I missed that Cologne, I saw him just now watching JJ being so rude to Sunshine and he just sat there and let him get away with it.

Yes saw that too, Steve may not do much but he is the voice of reason(not hard really). So far I like his no bullcrap approach.

I think Steve is just ignored, one evening he was talking about doing sports, i think it was basketball, but there are so many meglomaniacs in there that he is being lost. he has 8 kids, he said, so he must be a patient man! I think they have put him in there hoping that Keeva and her Irish militant views would cause some kind of controversy, Infact the only time i heard Keeva speak to him, was trying to work out if he was a Catholic or Protestant. I.E Keeva asking if he wore a wedding band! Why didnt she just ask straight out? Or was it just a coindence that Steve and Keeva were picked to go into the house at the same time as the Bloody Sunday findings were published?

when Keeva first went into the house, she wouldnt talk about Ireland, then she called where she stayed it was North Ireland, then she sang a song, which  was slightly edited. i have 2 sisters married into huge Irish Catholic families and they picked it up straight away! I am Scottish and a Protestant.  I dont want to cause any row, they may be wrong, but its worth a discussion x

That's cos of the editing Cologne.... on LF, if I remember correctly, JJ just kept on and in the end even Steve made a comment....

A Catholic marraige, within the chapel, maintains a man wears a wedding band, The word "band" not a "ring" said who she was, watched Steve,, hesitate , he knew what she meant, then he said he lost it..he wasnt playing her game
Skylark, I'll have to take your word for it but it really isn't something I have witnessed and to be perfectly honest its not something that I think warrants any comment on from my end at least. I try not to get involved with contentious posts.

respect to steve for even being there. bb must think hes worthy of being in the house. good luck to him but i think hes struggling,
After eleven BB's and the stick they've had about no disabled folk in there (apart from Mikey)I think they felt duty bound to be seen to be doing right. Sorry if it offends but that's my opinion. He seems a really nice guy but .....that's it really. I hope when it all thins out in there he'll get the chance to shine - at the moment though it's full of in your face typical BB HM's.

I think that was her trying to explain to a very thick Ben that Northern Ireland and the North of Ireland are not the same thing....he didn't get the distinction at all ...proving he's not the brightest in the house very early on

Can't say i have a real opinion about Steve now. Am sure some of the HM's are thinking the same way as me. Fact is--- Nominating someone with a disability , and slipping up on your reason for nominating may cause uproar in the Generall public, It's eay for us to find reason out here, but must be very hard for them in there to actually nominate him without feeling they are being discriminating against him in the publics eyes.

I'm Cathilic and call it a ring, my mother is old and calls it a band, maybe she just calls it what her mother calls it..and I am married into a Cathilic family who some served in the North and were Para's so I can't see it, also my grt uncle was hung by the british, we are all a mixed bunch, just cos your Irish does'nt mean you hate all English soldiers, infact I'd hate the government first....
