Oooooooooooh....such an important question........It's come up 3 times!
In online computer systems terminology, a tag is a non-hierarchical keyword or term assigned to a piece of information (such as an Internet bookmark, digital image, or computer file). This kind of metadata helps describe an item and allows it to be found again by browsing or searching. Tags are generally chosen informally and personally by the item's creator or by its viewer, depending on the system.
Tagging was popularized by websites associated with Web 2.0 and is an important feature of many Web 2.0 services. It is now also part of some desktop software.

**Fiddles with wiggly tag on neck and contemplates** xx
Tags are words which you can add to any thread here (through the Tags edit button at the top right of the screen). These tags are then picked up by search engines such as Google, and it's just a way of promoting this forum. An example of a thread with tag words is the Brand New fresh Big Brother 2011 thread.
The Tags list below Recent Topics lists the various tags which have been created. If you click on one of them you will get a list of those threads which have that tag word attached to it. You can see that some of the tag words are larger than others. This shows that there are more threads with that tag word.
Was he the one who worked for her and went on to be a copper in CSI?
